About this listen

Bundle includes:

Richypoo, That's Not a Bong: Chosen, Book 13

I like being a PI, but I don't love it. I like my life in Tennessee, but I don't love it. I like the apartment I live in, but I don't love it. Basically, my life is full of stuff that I can live with or without, with the exception of my mom and my sister, but they have their own lives.

When a case takes me to Purdy, Nebraska, I learn about shifters, and I meet a man I can't get out of my head. But, I'm straight. At least, I think I am. I've never really been too passionate about anyone or anything. Being around Payne and the leap of shifters opens my eyes to the fact that I haven't really been living a life so much as just keeping my heart beating from day to day. Moving to Purdy and starting a new life that involves people and things I actually enjoy being around is my new life goal. But, that means moving.

Is it a good thing or an absolute disaster that Payne volunteers to tag along and help out?

Give Me S'more: Chosen, Book 14

Finding out my mother and father have been hiding a pretty important secret from my brother and sister and me isn't the highlight of my week. But, considering that up until yesterday I was being held in a dingy, freezing cell with no blanket, it's also not the worst thing. So, what if I can get pregnant and have amazing children that can possibly levitate or blow stuff up with their minds, I always knew I was pretty freaking extraordinary. Too bad I have a giant, massive, occasionally-can't-keep-from-stopping-in-the-middle-of-a-sentence-to-get-my-sh*t-together crush on the tank-in-a-tight-tee who rescued us from stinky balls and using a bucket as a bathroom. Because my nosy a** just overheard him telling somebody he already has a mate and apparently, they're effing perfect.

Not All Rednecks: Chosen, Book 15

I want what my brother has. Well, not exactly. As great as Carpenter is, he doesn't do it for me. But, I want the love, devotion, and crazy attraction he has with his mate. I want someone to look at me the way they look at each other. The way most of the leap looks at each other.

After a horrible relationship with a man who tended to like to hurt me and not in a good way, I just want to find that one man who will treat me like I'm something special and not something to be abused and left behind. Ever since I first saw Axel, I had hoped I could have that with the tiger shifter from Tennessee who is visiting the leap as a favor to his alpha. But, as drawn as I am to the man, he doesn't seem to have any interest in me. I guess I'm just not meant to be his after all.

Warning: Contains Mpreg elements! Also, my books have little to no angst, and lots and lots of fluff! They are better listened to in order, because I kind of write them like a continuation of a story, and I don't like to repeat explanations over and over if I can help it. No cheating, because that makes my heart hurt, and I try to avoid things that make me sad like I should be avoiding carbs. Sorry, I just don't want anyone being disappointed if they like the angst filled heart-rippers. These can be listened to more like a romantic comedy than a romantic drama.

Wrong Narrator

I know Kenneth Obi passed away so I didn't mind the switch to Scott Rose (last bundle narrator) but this narrator was the absolute wrong choice for this series. Don't get me wrong, he was a good narrator and I would listen to other books he narrated, but rednecks and people from the Midwest don't have this sort of accent. I know a lot of other books get 'Americanized' so I guess fair play on us but it did take a lot away from the stories and I couldn't get into them. I am also disappointed the rest of the bundles aren't on Audio so I feel like the over arching plot never gets resolved. 😞

love the series, not the narration

I love this series and the narrator had a great voice. but since this series has had 3 different narrators this one is as far from the others as possible and the accent just throws the whole thing off. I would love to hear the narrator on a different book or series. but this one not so much.
I am not sure what happened to the original narrator for this series or even the one from previous bundle but they need to come back.

Review

I have enjoyed the story, However having a British person narrate this last bundle is aweful… the story is set in Nebraska and Tennessee so… why have a British narrator

Rednecks with British Accents?

I enjoy this series. After reading it a few times, I decided to listen to it. The narration was totally off putting. He’s not a bad narrator, but he is not right for this series. Many of the characters are from Oklahoma and Tennessee, and portions of the book take place in these states. It’s quite jarring having all of these people speaking with a British accent. I would recommend reading these three instead of listening to them.

Great series but . . .

So, I’ve bought the whole series through this latest bundle. I agree with other reviewers that the narrator did a great job, but he wasn’t right for these books. His accent sounded like a cross between British and Scottish, but the characters were from Oklahoma, Nashville and Nebraska, USA which all have distinct accents. The formula for these stories is all the same. Shifter stumbles upon his fated mate who is a chosen. Some kind of temporary drama ensues, followed by a sex scene, more short drama then the couple seals the deal. There’s just enough character quirks, witty dialogue and a back story that ties all the books together to keep it interesting. I hope she does the remainder of the series in bundles. The books are short reads and individually, the price would be too high for me at $14 each for audible.
