For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Five years after he married Kristen, the love of his life, they learn that he has Asperger syndrome. The diagnosis explains David's ever-growing list of quirks and compulsions, his lifelong propensity to quack and otherwise melt down in social exchanges, and his clinical-strength inflexibility. But it doesn't make him any easier to live with.

If every therapist and psychotherapist on the planet could repeat this to their clients, like a mantra, again and again, there would be fewer therapists and psychotherapists. Because it works. Very quickly. Realising that what you're worrying about and stressing over doesn't really matter so much in the grand scheme of things is the door to freedom and healing. Her love of trap music led her to the top of hip-hop journalism. But despite all the beauty, complexity, and general badassery she saw, Bowen found none of that nuance represented in mainstream feminism. Thus, she coined Trap Feminism, a contemporary framework that interrogates where feminism meets today's hip-hop.

It’s undeniable: women’s voices aren’t being heard - at work, at home, in every facet of their lives. The fault lies not with women, but in a culture that seeks to silence women’s voices. However, there are skills every woman can harness to understand her own voice and learn how to use it with confidence. Outspoken provides listeners with the insight, guidance, and encouragement they need to use their voice to successfully communicate in meetings, around the dinner table, and during future political debates.

This first step launched an unexpected side-hustle that would grow into Noonday Collection.

Story
Humans are social animals. But it is nearly impossible to build healthy, sustainable bonds with others without first having a good relationship with yourself. To get along with others, we often alter our habits or subsume our unique personalities. By trying to transform or suppress our true selves, we erode our self-worth and self-knowledge. We begin to lose sight of who we really are and what we truly want. When our self-understanding and self-confidence are damaged, it ultimately hurts our relationships.

Best Book I’ve read in 2019
I did not know what to expect from this book...the title certainly pulled me in. Boy oh boy was I in for a surprise! This book did not disappoint and someone with Anxiety myself it was spot on in so many ways. I am so happy Sarah put a real No seriously a REAL VOICE to anxiety and how it’s affects so many. Thank you Sarah and I am looking forward to reading to rest of your books indeed!!
Ps I had it on Audible and listen to it felt more like a conversation than a book ...all the better!!!

Liked it
I liked the book and found it had a lot of incite and much needed guidance. However it was a lot of chatter to process and almost felt less able to calm down to listen.

Listened twice and will again!...
I first heard this book from the library and enjoyed it. So much so, I purchased it on Audible. ‘Stumbled upon it again’ while searching for a good book to listen to on a road trip and chose to listen to it again. It was as if I was listening to it for the first time again because I was much more prepared to utilize the tips and tricks that were presented this time around. It was very funny, very useful, and was logically and strategically presented -and with checklists (so me). Great performance by the author too!

Entertaining yet insightful
I enjoyed this book, it was a "how to" on dealing with your hot mess of a life without spiraling out of control. Great Guide by an anti-guru!
