Publisher's summary

For the past year, Chloe St. John has been working as a K-9 cop with her German shepherd partner, Hank. After being dumped by her fiance for another woman, Chloe has decided Hank is just about the only male she likes. She's over the whole romance thing and focuses her attention on doing her job because a serious case of human trafficking with connections to her missing cousin just landed in her lap.

When US Marshall Blake MacCallum's daughter goes missing, he's ordered to kill the judge he's protecting and tell no one about his daughter's disappearance or she will die. Blake races against the clock to rescue his daughter while Chloe and Hank are asked to be a part of the task force assembled to bring down the traffickers.

Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man, but thanks to her previous bad judgment, she wonders if she can trust him. And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman?

This author keeps you guessing!

My hubby and I love Lynette Eason's books! Add this one to our list! The subject of human trafficking is hard to accept, and the author does an excellent job of presenting it. We were immediately drawn into the story, and at times, even shouted out suggestions to the law enforcement officers! As for the 2 stars on the narration, this lady has a nice voice, but she puts in too many pauses. Her narration does not flow well. But it was certainly not enough of a distraction to stop us from listening. We look forward to Book 3 in the series.

Human trafficking is a tough issue

Authorities angreat job of weaving and tough and tragic topic into this suspense mystery novel. Hope and the need to persevere and finding peace in the outcome at times of grief and forgiveness.

Excellent and filled with suspense.

I usually have an audio book I can listen in the car when commuting to work, this one grabbed me and I couldn’t stop listening when I arrived home....so in less than 24 hrs I finished it and wasn’t disappointed. I can’t wait for the next one to be available.

Good Read

I like listening to interesting books while I clean my home. I enjoyed this book very much. It was interesting and entertaining. My teenaged children even liked the book.

Books like these are why I pay for Escape

This was a good mystery book that had me guessing until the end. Loved the canine inclusion, as well. It's books like these that keeps me as a subscriber to Audible Escape.

What a thriller

I literally could not put this book down! I finished it in two days. The twist and turns in this book kept me on the edge of my seat!! I absolutely loved Chloe and Blake’s story and I love the St.John family. I would have to say so far it’s probably my favorite Lynette Eason book... I can’t wait to read/listen to the rest of the books in the Blue Justice Series!

Timeline inconsistency

On the same night the news that Penny is found and "is coming home", she shows up for ice cream. Its very unlikely that she comes home and is ready to go out in a couple of hours.
Besides that i enjoyed the book very much

Suspenseful Story

JWright
The storyline is well done, and this time, the narrator did a great job. I had some ideas about the truly “bad guys,” and some were correct. However, some of my ideas were totally off!
During the last two hours, I wanted to keep listening!
Eason’s inclusion of Biblical truths are subtly arranged, but she doesn’t include unnecessary graphic and/or vulgar scenes.
I’m glad I chose this novel.
