About this listen

With the cold weather quickly setting in, Lark is trying to ensure she has what she needs to make it through another bone-chilling winter in the cabin in the woods, but something has decided to pay her a visit. The question is, who? Or better yet, what?

There is a human invading his sanctuary, and he is determined to get rid of her. Humans in the past have left of their own accord, but not without a threat from him. However, this one is proving difficult. But she’ll go. One way or another, he will make her.

The thing is demanding that Lark leave, but she has nowhere to go. No one who cares. So she's determined to stand her ground.

After all, what does she have to lose, besides her life?

Short surprising horror story

This was a dark tale and I loved it. We have a supernatural predator and Lark, a woman who is a lone and doesn't have much. She is a threat to this being. Lark will fight for all she has. But soon Lark starts to understand this evil threat and a side of herself is unleashed she never knew was there. Dark Romance fans, this is a must read. It's quick and I really wanted more. The ending I didn't see coming. This narrator did a great job telling this tale. Really added to the element of horror.

Creepy

Blood Tenderly is a book that could give you absolute nightmares. The book has a funny side but is mostly dark. I enjoyed the well written storyline and the characters. This story may be short but it really packs a punch. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review here.

Short and slightly creepy

This audiobook is short and I can definitely say a little creepy especially with the way it end. Certainly wasn’t what I was expecting. It does in a strange creepy way have a happy ending.
Linda Mooney did a great job on the narration.

Hot Blooded

This was definitely a weird story, quite enjoyable, but weird. I did not see the book heading the way it did and was happy with the way it went. The entire story was told quite well and I really liked the direction it took. A bit different from my typical horror reads. Deep down I think this is a beautiful love story and not a horror story at all, although it certainly is quite creepy and ends quite graphically. This will definitely make you cautious of who you try to befriend, regardless of how cold and lonely you are.

I really enjoyed Linda Mooney’s narration. She did a great job voicing Lark and you could really feel the emotion and energy she put into it. Her tone and cadence really provided the atmosphere that made me feel this was a love story.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

creepy short story

This is a creepy short story. Definitely R rated for gore and subject matter. Interesting, builds up the main character enough for a short story to make you root for her. Great job not putting too much extra filler to slow it down, enough details to picture it.

meh

With the cold weather quickly setting in, Lark is trying to ensure she has what she needs to make it through another bone-chilling winter in the cabin in the woods, but something has decided to pay her a visit. The question is, who? Or better yet, what?

Oh Lark. She was quiet a character. At first I admired her bravery for facing this unknown threat. Then she tells it how depressed she is and how no one would care if she died and all this. I'm guess she thought the thing threatening her would care and wow! It does. This is where the story lost me. There is graphic sex/torture/death scene that I really wasn't a fan of. Overall, it was terrible but I didn't love it. I listened to the audio book which is read by Linda Mooney. She did a fantastic job.
