About this listen
Book and Study Guide in One!
There are blind spots in contemporary Christianity today. Things that we just don’t seem to see. Could we turn our head and look? Yes. Should we do so? Absolutely. But, for the most part, we do not. Instead, we content ourselves with quick glances in the side views as we continue headlong on our journey through life in this culture. I get it. The road is smooth and the seat warmer is soothing. The radio is playing our favorite tunes, and the kids are lost in digital worlds in the back seat. It’s clear sailing and steady on. Life is good in the car right now, so why bother with extra effort? Here’s why. Every sixteen year-old with a learner’s permit is taught that driving can be dangerous. Sitting behind the wheel of two thousand pounds of machinery, traveling sixty miles an hour, is serious business. We must always be alert. After all, we have our lives to protect, as well as the lives of family, friends, and all those who share the road with us. The Christian life is no different. Having the only message that can alter the eternal destiny of seven billion people is serious business. Being charged with representing Christ to a world in desperate need of Him is a solemn charge. Because of this, the need to check our blind spots is vital. Could there be blind spots that cause our lives to contradict the message of the Gospel, that actually turn people off to God instead of drawing them closer to Him, or hinder the work of the kingdom in our homes, our churches, our communities, and our country? If it is even remotely possible that the answer to any of those questions is “Yes,” then we need to do our utmost to bring these things into view and course correct as necessary. Let this book help turn our heads to see if anything sits hiding in our blind spots.
