About this listen
"Between the Lines" by Keith LaFoe is a gripping high school drama where the ordinary and extraordinary collide. Hector Garza is an invisible student, overlooked and struggling with mediocre grades—until the mysterious Henry Nelson transfers to his school. Tall, brilliant, and distant, Henry is a puzzle that no one can solve, yet every time Hector crosses paths with him, his luck inexplicably changes for the better.
As Hector's life improves, so do his grades, but rumors swirl around Henry's past, particularly his connection to a tragic incident involving a former student, Harmony Pena, who is now in a coma. Is Henry truly a bringer of bad luck, or is there more to his story? Driven by curiosity and a growing bond with Henry, Hector digs deeper, uncovering secrets that challenge everything he thought he knew.
Set against the backdrop of teenage angst, friendship, and the search for identity, "Between the Lines" blends mystery and supernatural elements, offering a poignant exploration of fate, free will, and the lengths we go to for those we care about. This audiobook will resonate with anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, offering a thrilling and emotionally charged experience that stays with you long after the final chapter.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

A Captivating Journey!
"Between the Lines" by Keith Lafoe is an absolute gem! From the very first page, I was hooked by Lafoe's unique storytelling and rich character development. The plot twists and emotional depth kept me completely absorbed, making it hard to put down. The way Lafoe delves into complex themes while maintaining a sense of intrigue and wonder is truly impressive. Highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an unforgettable read!
