Publisher's summary

When Brian Foley is charged with the murder of his next-door neighbour, the fastidious Arthur Cranham, it seems the case against the blustering showman is cut and dried: prints, DNA, CCTV footage - there can't be any doubt. After all - Brian and Arthur have famously been at war for years. But Jack and Sarah are convinced that the police have it wrong. With time running out, can they prove Brian's innocence and find the real killer?

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

A cleverly woven mystery!

From beginning to end, “Bad Neighbours” is a sheer delight. I give it 10 thumbs up.

With irrefutable evidence stacked high, Brian Foley, a boisterous business owner, is charged with murdering his persnickety and nosy neighbor, Arthur Cranham. Adding to the situation, Brian was heard threatening to kill Arthur shortly before Arthur's untimely demise. Jack and Sarah take on the impossible task of proving Brian’s innocence and set out to find the actual killer. Can they do it?

Matthew Costello and Neil Richards have done it again with this perfectly written tale of mystery mixed with just the right dash of suspense. It’s superbly narrated by Neil Dudgeon, known to so many as DCI John Barnaby in Midsomer Murders. The talented Mr. Dudgeon masterfully and vividly brings the story and all the characters to life.

If it were a film, Mr. Costello and Mr. Richards would certainly win the Oscar for best screenplay. And Mr. Dudgeon would win Oscars in all actor categories.

An absolute must for all Cozy Mystery lovers.

Another fun mystery

I have enjoyed this series very much, including this latest. My only complaint is that they are not longer! Excellent writing and aeration, as always.

Always fun

Characters appealing, story not a masterpiece but interesting. I’ve read every episode. Hoping for more. Yes, “cosy, mysteries.” comfortable. Great to go to sleep by. Writers hit the mark every time. Make writing stories look easy. Narrator Dudgeon perfect. Seasoned, very talented actor. Makes the stories. Jack & Sarah: Mr. Dillon & Kitty. When will romance take off? More from these authors?

Felt a bit incomplete

I enjoyed the story . However, a few things were too convenient, or too vague. The part where Jack talked to the puppet strained believability, and felt overly silly, and the ending felt too abrupt. This won’t be one of my favorites even though the mystery was intriguing.

Fun to hear

Short mystery, directly to the point. I got another in this series, and I hope it’s as good as this one.

Another episode in my favorite cozy series

This is a lovely series, I find them irresistible. The authors have a unique way of defining
characters and new plots without making the series tedious. Of you can't beat the narrator:
Neil Dudgeon has the character down pat: a british actor who plays a cop on tv....
playing a retired NYC cop in a tiny English village... love them all.

Jack and Sarah always a treat

The world of Cherringham, it's not always what it appears to be. But this is never a problem for Jack and Sarah.
It's wonderful to see the development of the characters, especially the children.
