About this listen

Walt Ridgeway is a poet at heart. He's not like other boys. He likes to think, write, and dream of life beyond his tiny Appalachian town. When he has to go help his aunts clean out his grandma's house, he's not expecting anything exciting. Until he becomes reacquainted with a local hillbilly boy, he knows from summer's past.

Dooley Harlow has a hard life. After his father left, he and his mom ended up in a bad way. He wants more than anything to find peace and be happy. Right now, he's barely getting by. Little does he know, the comfort and happiness he seeks are a lot closer than he thinks.

Join number one best-selling author Daniel Elijah Sanderfer for this modern Shakespearean meets hillbillies story about coming of age, friendship, family secrets, and first love.

Loved everything about this, it was really sweet and cute. The only complaint I had was it's not Ling enough! Walt and Dooley are so so so cute togther and they deserve the world. Syle and Kat are awsome in there own right!

Love happy endings, especially when they are gay.

I loved this story because me and my boy friend went through this and I loved the true love in the story people should be able to love who they choose not what people want them to love

The true love story

I absolutely loved this cute little love story. I’m new to audiobooks so it was good to be short and not too complicated. I thoroughly enjoyed Maxwell’s reading. Wish it was a little longer. Or perhaps more volumes (to come??) anyways,.. I recommend it.

Such a cute love story!

it was a cute coming of age story. There was subtle conflict but the story mostly focused on romance.

boring, everything is so quick paced I tried to get through the first chapter and just couldn't, there's also so many pov changes witch can be a bit confusing.

Nothing really, maybe it's just not my kinda story I guess.

This story lacks any meaningful conflict. It beats you over the head with Chinese fortune cookie wisdom like love is more powerful than hate. The sophomoric writing will make you groan. And everybody lives happily ever after. It even ends with the words, “the end.”

Great … if you like cliches, stereotypes and tropes
