About this listen

Welcome to my life as an intergalactic mail order bride.

Welcome to hell.

I just traveled halfway across the galaxy to meet my new husband.

With no women left on Auxem, he should know how to appreciate a lady.

Especially me, a lady from Earth!

He knows how lucky he has to have me. He knows how far I've come.

So why is he acting like such a complete jerk?

I know he's used to getting what he wants, but underneath his confident, chiseled exterior, he's hiding a big secret.

He barely speaks to me.

Now we're stranded together on a remote planet.

He's got a perfect body.

I hope he knows how to use it.

Give love a chance

Another great book about the aliens of Auxem. I loved the book about Arnon and was glad there is more about the Auxem. This book and the first book about Auxem were two of my favorites. I was also glad to see some old friends . Nathaniel and Ashlyn from Water World which was another of my favorites. I like the link up. I look forward to listening to the next book about Auxem. In this book the brother Ayrie is married but cannot fully commit. He is afraid to love because of what happened to his father. El does love him but wants more than than what he feels he can give her. Will she be able to change his mind or will he just let her slip away because of his fear. This is must read in the Auxem series.

a cool adittion to the series

I have to say that the 26 hours mark did scared me a little, but fear not ayrie is like 5 hours longs after that this audio have a reprise of some books on the series so if you never heard another one this could be a good way to start the collection.

the narrators were good I liked them a lot so tje performance was good and emotional.

the plot was good, it did follow the line the others did and I was glad that it did interconect at some point very subtle with other pairings and places on the series that was fantastic.

I was happy to see that integration and im anxipusly waiting the next book on the series.

Ayrie and Elle

This is the second book about Auxem, and it's need to find females to mate and breed with as because all the women on Auxem have died because of a mystery virus. The virus is now going to make the remaining men sterile. The answer to their problem is find willing females who do not carry H4T7 gene. This gene means that the babies born would be boys and they need girls! To do this they travel to earth to look for suitable brides.

Elle has entered into the program with Terramates because her life on earth is one she needs to escape from. Ayrie is one of the five princes of Auxem, he has no intention of ever taking a life mate or bonding with any female. But he is attracted to and likes Elle and wants to help her leave earth so they marry and enter the initial programme. She and Ayrie have married but Ayrie has no intention of every bonding with her so she knows that when she appears to be infertile she will be sent back to earth.

Over time Elle begins to realise that she has fallen in love with Ayrie but he does not appear to want her. One day they leave the space ship travelling back to Auxem to collect supplies from a world which consists mainly of water, their ship has a problem and they crash.

Once on what little dry land there is, stranded alone together, their mutual attraction begins to be blossoming into something more but will it?

Will Ayrie get over his fear of falling in love and losing Elle, will Elle settle for less than the marriage she wants. Will she be able to accept the secret the men from Auxem are keeping from their mates/wives when she finds out about it and what it could mean for the future of all the children born in these arranged marriages? Well I'm not going to tell you, you will have to listen to this wonderfully told tale for yourselves, I never give spoilers.

What I will say is that Lisa Lace has done it again, she has given us believable and interesting characters who have to work for it if they are going to get their HEA.

Another hot alien romance!!!

Any additional comments?

Ellie intrigued me in Auxem. She fought her way to school, she's survived against the odds, and she was accepted in to TerraMates even though she should not have been. She has had a rough life, bad relationship experiences, and she grew up poor so she is tough, tougher than even she realizes! It's her own bad luck that she went from having a marriage of convenience to falling in love with her husband! Dumb, dumb, dumb but true none the less, now what to do about it?

Ayrie does all the right things for all the wrong reasons and what he wants is to never, ever love. He doesn't want fall in love, he doesn't want anyone to make it past his defenses and make him care and most of all he does not want to bond, no way!

The problem is that Ellie is possibly reaching through his shields instead of trying to go around them and it is confusing the heck out of him! Why does he care what she says, thinks, or feels? All she is to him is a distraction, she distracts him to the point of insanity and its not just her super hot body, no she has brains, and heart and he is afraid to hurt her but he is more afraid to let her go.

Great Lisa Lace Compilation

First, this is NOT a single 26.5 hour story. Here's what you get:

1- Auxem Book 2 (complete)- Ayrie-- Kelly Morgan/Paul Brion approx 4.5H
2- Auxem Book 3 (Ch 01 teaser)- Anders-- Connor Brown/Piper Fairweather 30 min
3- Auxem Book 1/TerraMates Book 13 (complete)- Auxem-- Faith Clark/Logan McAlistar 5H
4-TerraMates Book 3 (complete)-Water World Confidential--Terrance Bayes/K. Morgan 5.5H
5- TerraMates Book 4 (complete)-Alpha's Enslaved Bride--Kelly Owens/Peter Verbena 5.4H
6- TerraMates Book 5 (complete)-Auctioned to the Alpha--Samantha Leatherwood 5.4H

Lisa Lace writes sci-fi romances that are fun and packed with action and drama but that don't take a huge time commitment for each installment. They are all well-written and entertaining. The narrators change from book to book, so if you don't care for one, try another. They can all be listened to as stand-alones, but if you are a series purist, you may want to listen to them like this:

Track 48-TM3
Track 70-TM4
Track 90-TM5
Track 26-Aux1
Track 01-Aux2
Track 25-Aux3 teaser

Hope this is helpful. My opinion is that both these series are definitely worth listening to. If you're on the fence, this compilation is a perfect way to sample 5 complete shorts and a teaser chapter for one credit.

Good story!

Still listening but wanted to let everyone know that this audiobook is not just one book. It includes 5 separate stories, so I'll post a review for each individual story as I listen to them.

Ayrie (Auxem, Book 2) ~ Narrators: Kelly Morgan & Paul Brion
This story picks up one month after Arnon and Jayne have their babies. This one is about Ayrie Madellan, Prince Arnon's younger brother, and Elle, his TerraMates bride. They have been together for 10 months by this point. The two married because she was escaping an abusive ex on Earth and he was trying to help, and he wanted to find a mate to have children with. The problem is that, while they are attracted to one another, they are both fighting against and denying their feelings for one another. Elle wants Ayrie to love her but fears he never will and, even if he does love her he will eventually break her heart, so she keeps a tight reign on her own feelings. Ayrie willing lusts after her but refuses to succumb to love because he doesn't want to become his father, a man broken after the loss of his own mate. The two are trying to navigate a marriage while trying to remain emotional unattached. Their story is one of two people overcoming emotional and physical barriers to find their way to a HEA with one another. I really enjoyed their story and look forward to seeing what happens with the three younger brothers. Well done to the author and the narrators for bringing this story to life.

Sneek Peek ~ Anders (Auxem, Book 3)
I enjoyed this little snippet of Anders. I believe the same as Elle, that he is much more than what his family believes or what he allows them to see of himself. I look forward to reading the rest of his story.

Auxem (Auxem, Book 1 - TerraMates, book 13) ~ Narrators: Logan McAllister & Faith Clark
This story is the first in the TerrMates spin-off Auxem series. It's about Jayne, the daughter of Sophie and Kellan from Origins. She is mated to Arnon, crown prince of Auxem. The population of Auxem are in danger of going extinct because they have no females. A disease killed off their female population and since the men have only been able to produce male offspring. Their scientist have narrowed the cause to a specific gene that the female carries, so they need females that don't have the gene in order to have female offspring. Arnon, his four brothers, their father the king and many other men of the Auxem race come to Earth in hopes of creating an alliance with Earth, a sort of breeding program. Arnon falls hard for Jayne and the two decide to marry and bond, the bond being a lifetime commitment that can not be reversed. After getting together, Jayne discovers she has the gene that they are trying to avoid. Believing the lab techs made a mistake she asks them to retest her. Before she can get the new test, Arnon discovers she's gene positive and accuses her of hiding it from him because she was after his money. Jayne discover she's pregnant and when she tells him he suggest giving the baby to a 'more worthy' female, cause he's stupid that way. Then, to top it off, he says he's going to stay married and bonded to her, but they can't ever be together again and he's going to find other women to have his babies. Jayne decided she isn't giving up her baby or sticking around while her husband beds other women, so she enlists his brother Anders to take her back to Earth. Now Arnon has to try to stop her before it's too late. The story was well written and interesting. I enjoyed it. I think the female narrators attempt at the male voices was a bit off putting and the male narrators speech for the characters was a bit staccato, but overall they did a good job. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.

Water World Confidential (TerraMates, Book 3) ~ Narrators: Kelly Morgan & Terrance Bayes
I'm gonna be honest and say I had some trouble getting into this one like I did the previous story. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it had something to do with the way the female narrator made the character sound so whinny throughout the story. I have a problem with adults who act like whinny children and the female character was made to sound like that almost the entire time. Also, at times, the way the narrators would say certain things did not seem to match up to the reactions the characters were supposed to be having. For example; at one point Jori said something to Sam that was suppose to sound seductive and playful, but the way the narrator said it made it sound like he was insecure and asking a question rather than making a statement. However, had I read this instead of listening I probably would have liked it more. The author wrote a really interesting story with plenty of action and adventure, plus the hawt moments. I'm gonna say the author did a great job, but the narrators kind of drag it down for me a bit. I'm gonna listen to the next book and hope it gets back to the level of enjoyment the first book gave me.

Alpha's Enslaved Bride (TerraMates, Book 4) ~ Narrators: Kelly Owens & Peter Verbena
While I can't say that this is my favorite read of the series, it is still a really good story. I liked how similar the two main characters were, while still having their own individual personalities. There were times throughout the story that I wanted to slap one or both of them, but that's when you know it's a good book, when it causes you to want to take physical actions against one of the characters. I didn't dislike any of the characters, unless you count the cult crazies. Well done to the author on such a good story. Also, the narrators di a pretty good job as well. There were a few small things that could have been better, but overall it was a job well done.

Auctioned to the Alpha (TerraMates, Book 5) ~ Narrator: Samantha Leatherwood
Still listening to the story, but I just had to take a quick break to say I'm having some trouble with the scene I just listened to. I don't understand how Eden can find the restaurant scene titillating and arousing at the same time. She had it right when she said it was morally reprehensible, but then she adds that it is exciting her at the same time, which I can not understand at all. Ok, going back to listening now. So, I'm done reading now. While I still can't get past the whole slave aspect that I spoke of earlier, the story did in fact get better. Thiago did not buy Eden to be his slave, in fact he bought her to save her from a life of slavery. Thiago and Eden, and unfortunately Ardella, made this story exciting. I knew Ardella was going to be bad news from the beginning, but she did have her moments. Eden was a good character, but she was a bit gullible about some things. Thiago was a great character. I loved getting to know about some of his past. I also really like how his shell slowly broke open throughout the book. Ardella, while a good character, was not a good character. Meaning, she was written very well but she was also the villain. The author did a great job writing this one and the narrator did a great job performing it. The voices were different and each distinct. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Ayrie by Lisa Lace

Where does Ayrie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ayrie is one of my favorites in this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ayrie?

When Ayrie and Elle hit the water after Ayrie's exhaustion and Elle saves them both with her lifeguard swimming skills.

Which character – as performed by Kelly Morgan and Paul Brion – was your favorite?

Elle is my favorite character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Elle takes a swim and then a nap alone on the beach while Ayrie leaves at the shelter they found on the island so he can go up on the mountaintop to signal for help. Then he comes back and can't find her. He panics. It was quite touching.

Any additional comments?

I really liked Ayrie and Elle's story. They got off to a rocky start, neither sure of their own feelings much less the other's, and both agreeing to the match for reasons other than wanting to fall in love. Despite this, feelings of love do begin to develop between them and when they find themselves depending on each other to stay alive the love between them shines through. AYRIE is the second book in Lisa Lace's newest series, Auxem. It's also essentially the fifteenth book in her TerraMates series. However, this book is a stand-alone, full-length science fiction romance. There are no cliffhangers, and a happy ending!

Ayrie being the second of the five princes of Auxem it was not important for him to choose a bride from the women volunteering to come to help his planet, but there was something about Elle's vulnerability he could not ignore. The fact that she was the sexiest and most beautiful woman he'd ever seen made her practically irresistible. Likewise, Elle didn't want to fall in love with her husband, but Ayrie was gorgeous and she was drawn to his confidence, good looks, and hard well-built body. The fact that they both agreed to a marriage of convenience... in name only... well, it wasn't really working out for either of them. Everyone else could see how much they cared for each other, but denial, denial, denial, lol.

As always there is action, danger, and romance between and independent earth woman and a sexy alien. This time he's a prince! Super story! I enjoyed the narration provided by Kelly Morgan and Paul Brion. Each did a great job of illustrating each characters individual voices and personality. 4 stars

The description is incorrect.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story was was well written, however it is more than one book, which was not included in the narrative description. I was looking for a long book for a trip. It did the job, but I was not what I was looking for.

Have you listened to any of Kelly Morgan and Paul Brion ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

N/a

What would have made this romance irresistible?
