About this listen

For Selene Warren, being a witch is no big deal. She dabbles in harmless magic with her friends and never thinks much about it. However, when a stranger who seems to know her shows up at her studio and her grandmother is brutally attacked, her simple life becomes complicated. A world of elves, half elves, fae - and one peculiar Sekhmet named Femi - open up to her. She will discover that fairy tales are real, politics are ugly in any world, and there is a lot more to her life than she ever dreamed possible. This new reality threatens to swallow Selene whole, but with a forgotten past beating down her door, she will have to dive in to save her future.

OK

Good concept. I like the exploration of how you'd feel if you couldn't remember an earlier portion of your life and how you'd interact with people that knew you before.

Pleasantly surprised

I have to admit Easy Bake Coven had started slowly. A lot of different characters to learn. But all in all, it turned very well. I was pleasantly surprised. Each of the characters started to come into their own. The lead characters made you like them the more the story played out.

Easy Bake Coven didn't end in a cliff hanger so to speak. It did end with excitement of what will come next. The book can be read as just a single book or you can check out the next book to see what is to come.

Yes, I would recommend this book to friends. It is a very easy and quick read. A cozy book to sit with tea or wine and a blanket on a chilly weekend.

Easy Bake Boring!

When I first got this on audible....I thought yay another witchy book....I love these kinds. Oh boy...to much internal dialog and the main character is an idiot. I made it through the first book after numerous times of putting it down. The background support characters were more interesting then the main. I found them funny and engaging but it didn't help the main. I didn't like it....flat straight up.

Don't be fooled by the pretty cover or the title

I wanted to love this. I didn't. Not even a little.

Selene, Selene, Selene,--this is one of those books that's truly 100% all about me, myself, and I...I stopped listening with 3 hours left.

In order not to spoil it or give away to much of the story, which there isn't very much to start with, I'll just say, I was expecting a book about a coven of which and ended up with a headache and no real clue as to what I was suppose to care about. Not Selene, Not the hot elf Prince, and not her friends (coven) whom we see little of.

As far as the reader goes, she's not horrible, a little breathy in parts, but it wasn't bad narration that kept me from liking this book, it was Selene both halves of her...

I posted a review on Goodreads under bookgk with spoilers.
