About this listen

The city is on lockdown, but the winds of change are blowing.

When Moss learns of an opportunity to influence politics and work against the mega-corporations on another front, he and the crew delve into a dangerous new high-risk, high-reward world. To change the system for good, they need the help of additional allies, but with new friends come with new threats. Hacks, attacks and betrayals threaten them at every turn.

And the companies have their own plans. The mission is fraught with danger and violence; and Moss's own family is in the crosshairs. Relationships are tested and nothing will ever be the same.

headline

Quality cyberpunk. I do wish there was a bit more about the legwork they do (or don't do) for a mission.

Question

I’m a little confused at the ending of chapter 24, did Moss kill his grandma?

Too much interpersonal stuff, not enough action

This book is a bit different than the previous installments, focusing more on interpersonal relationships and romance than the earlier books. Unfortunately, the author's ability to write compelling action scenes does not extend to these more personal narratives, and it's kind of boring.

Horrible moral compass

The main group is so insufferable and lacking in self-awareness that I started rooting for the corpos. It’s really a shame because the world is cool. Overall an irritating disappointment.

Couldn't go on

Book 4 was when you saw the author's political delusion bleed into the book. Just became a book to push their beliefs onto the reader, made the story unenjoyable. Tried to push past it but won't be finishing the story nor any future stories.
