About this listen

Avery Shaw is a powerful woman. Unfortunately for her, the strongest weapon in her arsenal is often her mouth. She refuses to lose, though, which makes her the most dangerous woman in Macomb County, Michigan.

Avery’s "never say die" attitude is always on display, even when she takes on murderers, sex scandals, missing children, a comic book convention and smarmy politicians. This three-book omnibus includes books seven through nine in the Avery Shaw series. Included are:

Headlines & Deadlines

Misprints & Mistakes

Bylines & Skylines

Great listen!

I really enjoyed this boxset in the series. It was less predictable than previous books, and was very well narrated.

Great books. I laughed and cry along the way

Books 7 through 9 were hard to put down. Amanda M. Lee has a way with making me laugh and cry through them. Avery, Elliot and Jake are great. I love to read books that get my emotions involved. I can't wait to read more of the books.

Avery Shaw 3 great books for 1 credit

Avery Shaw, now known as the famous newspaper reporter Avery Shaw, is up to her usual antics to get the scoop before anyone else. As usual, she puts herself in danger, gives Elliot heartburn, gets Jake and Derrick on scenes to her rescue and causes raucous within media ranks.

Avery is maturing where she is amenable to sharing information and contacting the police before releasing information.

The romances of our male characters still revolve around Avery, which emboldens her interference. Jake and Derrick’s girlfriends endures censor from Avery.
The Friday dinners are entertaining with the antics of grandpa, Avery’s mother and Avery and Derrick arguing over dinner.

At this point you are very familiar with the story. The best reason to buy this is because you get 3 books for 1 credit.

It Never Gets Old

The Story: Three more delightfully crazy, funny, and enjoyable mysteries of the life and times of Avery Shaw and her peeps. I only recently discovered this series and have been bingeing it since. I have so many literal laugh out loud moments in every book that I cannot listen to them in bed after my husband goes to sleep, and yet, the stories also offer both endearing and tense moments, along with decent mysteries.

The Narration: As an avid audiobook reader, I am very picky about narration. There are times when I wish the narrator wasn't quite so shrill. True, it is in keeping with Avery's family dynamics, but maybe tone it down a bit or limit it to one or two characters. Perhaps fewer male characters sounding like Homer Simpson would be good, as well. However, Avery, Jake, Elliott, and Lexi are performed perfectly.
