About this listen
In 1973 and in 2022, the United States found itself in the midst of outrage and protest on one side and joy and fanfare on the other. The difference between then and now: The emotions have switched sides. Those who found themselves angered after the verdict of Roe v. Wade now found themselves rejoicing after the verdict of Hobbs v. Jackson.
Our country is facing a difficult journey in the months and years ahead as the fallout of the overturning of Roe v. Wade comes into focus. We see protests involving pro-choice believers against pro-life believers. We see political maneuvers as the blue states scramble to hold on to the freedoms that they see being taken away while the red states scramble to close up any gaps that can be used to allow the act of abortion to take place within their borders.
Will the verdict of Hobbs v. Jackson lead us to a new understanding of the sanctity of human life from the point of conception? Or will it simply open the door for greater numbers of unsafe, back-alley coat-hanger abortions?
In order to know where we are going, it is first necessary to know where we've been. In this book, you will learn the history of abortion in America and the world and travel the road that brought us to where we are today.

Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.

The Vision of the Anointed is a devastating critique of the mindset behind the failed social policies of the past thirty years. Thomas Sowell sees what has happened not as a series of isolated mistakes, but as a logical consequence of a vision whose defects have led to disasters in education, crime, family disintegration, and other social pathology. In this book, "politically correct" theory is repeatedly confronted with facts-and sharp contradictions between the two are explained in terms of a whole set of self-congratulatory assumptions held by political and intellectual elites.

Although Roe v. Wade identified abortion as a constitutional right 45 years ago, it still bears stigma - a proverbial scarlet A. In public discussion, both proponents and opponents of abortion's legality tend to focus on extraordinary cases. This tendency keeps the national debate polarized and contentious. Professor Katie Watson focuses instead on the cases that happen the most, which she calls "ordinary abortion". Scarlet A gives the reflective listener a more accurate impression of what the majority of American abortion practice really looks like.

But as celebrated Supreme Court lawyer and former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal argues in Impeach, if President Trump is not held accountable for repeatedly asking foreign powers to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, this could very well mark the end of our democracy. To quote President George Washington's Farewell Address: "Foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government."

Gender identity ideology is about more than Twitter storms and using the right pronouns. In just 10 years, laws, company policies, school and university curricula, sport, medical protocols, and the media have been reshaped to privilege self-declared gender identity over biological sex. People are being shamed and silenced for attempting to understand the consequences of redefining "man" and "woman". While compassion for transgender lives is well-intentioned, it is stifling much-needed inquiry into the significance of our bodies.

Liberals know they’re within reach of radically transforming America. They don’t like the US Constitution. They’re allergic to Americans’ “gun culture”. They find our faith and our devotion to family distasteful. And our commitment to liberty positively sends them into a panic. As soon as the Democrats get power anywhere, they stand ready to throw our God-given rights under the bus of political correctness, transgender insanity, and socialism (the economic system that always promises equality and utopia, but somehow always delivers resentment, poverty, and decay).

Women who opt not to be mothers are frequently warned that they will regret their decision later in life, yet we rarely talk about the possibility that the opposite might also be true - that women who have children might regret it. Drawing on years of research interviewing women from a variety of socioeconomic, educational, and professional backgrounds, sociologist Orna Donath treats regret as a feminist issue: as regret marks the road not taken, we need to consider whether alternative paths for women currently are blocked off.

Politics is no longer about pointing to a shining city on the hill; it's about promising you a shiny new car for your driveway. The candidate who tells the people what they want to hear is usually the one who wins - facts be damned. Politicians may be sleazy and spineless, but they're not stupid. They see that the way to win is by first telling people everything that is wrong with the world and then painting a vision of the life they want - a Utopian vision that they'll create right here on earth, one where no one is ever sick or hungry, jobless, or homeless.

Cleared the fog of confusion
I stand on neither side of Roe vs. Wade but I was seeking clarification on the position of each side. This audiobook not only brought understanding, but it gave the me a historical timeline all the way up to where we are now.
What's makes this audiobook even more striking is that it was narrated by a woman with crystal clear pronunciation and firm tone. Her voice connected me with the emotions that I can only imagine she felt when hearing the decision of the Court.
Incredible, factual, and well-researched book...through and through.

Great representation of how we got here!
This author has done an amazing job of documenting the history of women’s rights specifically with pregnancy. As a woman who is raising a daughter in this world where her rights are being taken from her, I find this book to be just the thing I plan to share with her. For anyone trying to grasp how we got to where we are today with women’s rights with pregnancy, you must listen to this book!

GREAT OUTLOOK ON THIS MATTER
There wouldn't be 500,000 children in the United States waiting to be adopted if pro-lifers genuinely cared about kids. Who has the right to make such a judgment and decree that a woman must give birth even if there are valid medical, abusive, or economic reasons not to?
Why do people despise and desire to dominate women so much? Colorado has a low abortion rate and provides free contraceptives and sex education. Republicans, though, nevertheless cast their votes against it. How is it possible for a gummy bear-sized fetus to beat its heart?
Why not enact rules that would make it illegal for men to father 100 women in a year? How can a person advocate killing people, whether they are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or atheist? Those who assert to believe in the right to life yet favor killing people and allowing machine guns to be carried on public streets.

Very informative
The author goes very in-depth in this controversial issue. I liked that this book was very neutral on both pro-choice and pro-life sides of abortion. It gives a good perspective on the moral and political arguments of each.
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to understand all the facts of this debate.

Riveting!
This is such a fascinating book. The writer is well aware that the subject is a touchy one, but it has been dealt with professionally and tactfully. Even if you are on the fence, or if you have a hard stance one way or another, you have to read or listen to this book. There are enough facts and information to ensure you have all you need to decide. Everywhere I go with this book, people want to read it too. Great gift also. Good job writer!

This book is very profound; it went through the inexpressible truth of where we were as a society and what we have come to be. It’s always good to hear the views of others, whether we agree or not. This opens the lines of communication so we can be better as a society.
This is not a one size fits all solution! Excellent research.

I learned so much. I was asked by a friend of mine regarding my stand on abortion and surely this book opened doors as it provided a lot of standpoints and facts returning back to the early days. Pregnancy and abortion will always be a subject of interest especially with politics. This book is a good source of points in helping you better understand the issue. Definitely worth the read. Fair And Balanced
The topic of this book is a very controversial one. It goes without saying since we all know the current political/religious zeitgeist. My personal beliefs on this issue aside, I must admit that I was very impressed with how this book handles its topic. It presents both sides of the spectrum in a fair and balanced way. Thus, allowing the listener to reach his/her own conclusion. If one wants to learn about this issue by seeing both sides of the argument, then this is the book to listen to. Recommended.

Fantastic Presentation!
With all that’s going on in our country right now, the last thing we need is more polarization. This audiobook does an amazing job of presenting the facts of both sides of the argument regarding abortion. If everyone listened to this book, we might actually understand how the “other side” thinks and come together to find solutions instead of bashing each other. This audiobook is a wonderful resource. Thank you for creating it. Highly recommended to read this before the mid-term election!

This book showed valid points on both sides of pro-life and pro-choice. It gives examples and actual facts and events and is well-researched. A good read to get more information and to understand each side, and the other side which is the sad side - the politics of it.
