Publisher's summary

Welcome to Cat’s Paw Cove, Florida - an enchanting seaside town and favorite tourist destination. But there’s something unusual about the locals, both human and feline. The popular Shipwreck Museum might just take you back in time, and the historic Sherwood House holds secrets, old and new.

Adopt a furever friend at the Cove Cat Café, treat yourself to a psychic reading at Eye of Newt metaphysical shop, pick up a special trinket from Black Cat Antiquities. And don’t be surprised if you find your heart in the magic of Cat’s Paw Cove.

In a violent storm in 1645, Colin Wilshire’s Barbados-bound ship is swept off course. He’s sure he and his pregnant bride are fated to drown when he’s tossed into the sea. He wakes in a strange land and is saved by a blue-haired angel.

Twenty-first-century witch and cat rescuer Luna Halpern has fallen for more than her share of unsuitable guys - including one with a long-distance fiancé, and another who was more interested in other dudes than in Luna. Finally, a safe, drama-free guy is interested in her, and she’s confident that she’ll muster up an attraction to him. When she stumbles upon a handsome, mysterious man who speaks oddly, seems not to know where he is, or even what century it is, her first instinct is to help him.

Certain he’s either stuck in a crazy dream or in limbo between life and death, Colin stays close to Luna. As his feelings for her grow, he’s forced to choose between his obligations in the past and his hopes for the future.

Loved the Narrator!

Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heat Rating: 🔥
Narrator Performance: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

I was a bit caught off guard by this novella. I found it rather delightful despite it not being my preferred style. Usually I go for the spicier reads. While this had nothing more than kissing in it the romance between our main characters was easily believable. I enjoyed the fact that I had no clue who the bad guy was. Also, even though I had guessed at a surprise at the end of the book, I had totally forgotten about it after it was originally foreshadowed. It was kinda cool that when the surprise became known that it came out in a way that startled a little.

Rebecca Winder was absolutely amazing with her narration of the story. Her performance had it all. There was acting as well as different voices and vocal patterns for the characters. I can’t believe I’ve never come across her before now. She truly made the story alive for me.

Super Sweet Story

I really enjoyed all that this story had to offer. Romance, Mystery, and Magic. Great job by the narrator as well. Wish the rest of the books were available. Glad this isn't a cliff hanger! LOL

Cute, cozy little, um, mystery(?)

This is a cute, cozy little, ummmm, mystery(?) ... all wrapped up with a bit of time travel, an 18th century sailing ship, and a modern day pirate! There's also a Witch, plenty of cats, and some delicious baked sweets! You're going to want to grab the book to see what's cookin', but fair warning, you may need a sweet confectionery goody before your done! LOL!
Rebecca Winder's narration is spot-on as she tells us a story about A Witch... in Time.

Delightful!

This is a simply delightful story. It was listed under Paranormal Romance, but I would call it “Cozy Paranormal Romance.” The characters are endearing and personable. The story is entertaining yet wholesome. I absolutely loved it. The narration was very well done. Very engaging and emotive.

Delightful Time Travel Romance

Luna Halpern is a twentieth century witch living in Cat's Paw Cove, FL where she run a bakery and cat cafe. On the eve of her town's historical society opening of a restored 17th century ship a mysterious man appears near drowned on the beach. Colin Wilshire awakes from a terrible storm which was breaking apart his ship to find himself on a beach with a blue-haired beauty. Confused about the strange speech, dress and unexplainable curiousities around him, Colin and Luna come to realize he has mysteriously traveled through time to the present day. Concerned about returning to his own time to save his wife an unborn child and to find his invention plans hidden on the restored ship, Colin and Luna search for a way to return Colin to his own time. As they do so they solve a mystery, find out the fate of Colin's wife and child, and fall in love.

I was not sure what to expect of this book. So many time travel romances are poorly written these days. But this little romance was well written and an enjoyable listen. The story kept my interest and I liked the characters. The town of Cat's Paw is cute and clearly there is set up for future books. The time travel mechanism was reasonably well explained. The romance develops fairly quickly and the story as a whole progresses very fast. Overall, the book has a feel of a quick cozy mystery type read.

The only thing that was confusing were a couple of instances when the characters discussed other romances and events that were not part of the actual story line in this book. They seemed to be a device for linking this book to other books in the series, although this was the first book. It came across as rather forced and confusing.

The narrator, Rebecca Winder, did a very nice job, including a reasonable British accent for Colin and good discrimination of character voices.

Overall, this was a fun, quick little afternoon listen. I will be revisiting Cat's Paw Cove in future books.

A Guilty Pleasure

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I really enjoyed this book. It's silly, and holds few surprises, yet it's short enough that it doesn't wear out it's welcome, and before you know it, it's over and you have a smile on your face. I look forward to the next one.

Great Time Travel/Cozy Mystery!

This is the first novella in the Cat's Paw Cove Series, a Cozy Mystery and Time Travel Romance. I like the cover. Luna's story is beautifully written, sweet, cute, and entertaining. The world building is original, and captivating. I liked the mystery, the magic, and the romance. Rebecca Winder did an outstanding job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, very pleasant to listen to. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

This is a funny, and thrilling story

This is wonderfully narrated. The narrator speaks plain and clear and brings this story to life. We have a time traveling mystery. Colin lands in a town that has a ship that looks like one he traveled on with his dear wife who he has lost. But it's not his is it? He meets Luna and she takes him to a place for drink and food. Luna didn't want a man but Colin grows on her but can she keep him? This is a funny, and thrilling story so I would highly recommend if you like mystery, sweet romance, and a touch of paranormal.
