it was refreshing to listen to a fun story with some resemblance of morality.

Do not like the virtual voice narration. lacks feeling, character differentiation, and mispronounced words with double meanings as well as reading acronyms as a word. NOPE,

The mispronunciations were jarring at times.

Going forward, I will look for an actor or author narrator when choosing a title.

Lousy narrator (virtual)

I liked the stories and the characters very much. I definitely Do Not like the virtual narration. It cannot do different voices or accents or inflections, all characters sound exactly alike. And it mispronounces many words. I want human narrators.

AI😞

I think that it wasn't too bad. However, having to hear, "title page," after each title quickly became annoying!

AI narrator

The story was not bad however, the AI narration is AWFUL! Each character has the same voice, so you can not tell which character is supposed to be speaking. There are hardly any inflections (emotions) in the voices, it is like a monotone monologue. Things like PI (for private investigator) is pronounced pie, ty in a text was pronounced Ty like a name. I do not care for the AI narration and hope they don’t decide to do all books that way.

Delightful stories with strong likable characters

I like the fact that each of the primary characters had a disability they were working to overcome. And that they found ways to help each other. The plots were interesting and the solutions weren’t out there’, or convoluted.

I still have trouble with the computer generated speech. In this book what bothered me most were the acronyms. Hearing the voice say something like “The me said the results were…” instead of “The ME said the results were…” Since I’m not seeing the words, I have to stop the recording and figure out what would have been said if a human were reading the text. “The eyad…” instead of “The IAD…” Hearing ‘eyad’ my mind went to Eyore, so then I was thinking of Winnie The Pooh instead of the story that was being ‘read’. It also bothers me to hear “Title Page” and things like that.

Liked the stories, but tolerated the narration.

Great writer!!!

This was an unexpected joy! I picked this box set knowing I needed a distraction from life to help destress! I love Fin and Annie and can’t wait to hear about their next case! I loved the writers descriptions. One sentence in particular might be the creative spark for a future children’s book. Great job!!!

delightful, no stress

This is not your high action mystery, graphic sex romance. It is a pleasant read for when you just want to know some lovely people and smile. Would be a great beach read. A deaf mom and recently disabled serviceman get together, detective kind of work, investigating dubious insurance claims. Beside these two sweet people are the women's two young children.
The female narrator was fine but didn't have an alternate voice for the men characters. Doesn't anyone listen to these things before finalizing the productions?
I see this is volume 1. I will definitely want to listen to the next volume. This would make a great TV series.
