About this listen
After her father’s banking scandal forces Nora to flee Boston, she journeys west to Kansas, seeking a fresh start as a mail-order bride. Arriving at Lawrence Ahearn's ranch just before a blizzard hits, she finds herself facing a different kind of challenge: mending the broken heart of a grieving widower and his two young children who haven't celebrated Christmas in two years.
Lawrence, a man hardened by the loss of his wife, Mary, struggles to reconcile his growing attraction to Nora with the secrets she seems to be hiding. As Christmas nears, he’s torn between the hope she offers and the fear that trusting her could lead to another devastating loss.
With the arrival of a vengeful outsider seeking to expose Nora's past, they must decide if they are willing to embrace the joy of the season and trust in love, or risk losing the fragile happiness they've found amidst the harsh Kansas winter…

A feel good story
This story is a sweet way of showing love, forgiveness, and acceptance of others. It also hits the truth that sometimes it takes time for the truth to be found.

Potential
The story jumped around. I had a hard time following the introduction of the characters. This had the makings of a pretty good novel if it had been developed more fully.

Repetitive and Confusing at Times
The story has a good plot but lacks consistency. It jumped around and repeated the same lines. I felt like the book was recorded out of order at times. It was difficult to follow. It seemed like the beginnings of an interesting novel but was not finished.
