The Colonial Williamsburg you are visiting is literally a window to the past where we can see in detail the thriving town that served as the capital of Virginia for 80 years. In part one we begin our tour at one of the famous taverns that served the men we know today as our Founding Fathers. Along our tour route, we'll see shops that still provide colonial-era goods. We'll also visit some of the public buildings where the innocent and guilty had their days in court—and where Blackbeard's pirates were jailed!

On this walking tour, your host, BrightPath Tours, will take you through some of the most famous spots that make up Historic Philadelphia. Starting at the site of the President's House with stops that include Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the site of Ben Franklin's home, you'll see why this area is called the Cradle of Liberty. We're starting at one of the earliest churches in Virginia, Bruton Parish Church.

Gettysburg has long been a destination for those seeking ghosts and unexplained happenings. Along the way, Phyllis will relate stories from her own personal experiences. Author Christine Thomas, using diaries from the townspeople themselves, newspaper reports of the day, and the general gossip of the town, paints a vivid picture of those who lived here and survived the greatest battle on the North American continent. Established in the mid-1700s, Old Town Alexandria is an early American town steeped in the history of America's first settlers, military leaders, politicians, and churchmen. See the places where these early Americans lived, worked, and socialized and hear many of their stories - the very stories that you'd expect from a place that produced our first President! Starting at the National Gallery of Art East building, we’ll walk down the Mall towards the Washington Monument and we'll end the tour at the National Museum of African-American History and Culture—a stunning museum and one of the newest in DC.

The Ellipse is one small area in front of the South Lawn of the White House. Although we don't have to cross a single street, this tour is a BIG challenge. Instead of the open areas similar to the National Mall, this is a very enclosed, highly secured part of DC. We're lucky to be able to tour here! This tour begins at the train station and follows the route that Lincoln walked during the procession to the cemetery. We’ll walk the same streets that saw the Union retreat on July 1st and then the procession to the cemetery a few months later. Along the way, we’ll hear from many of the townspeople that witnessed the famous visit and we’ll stop at some of the places that hosted Lincoln and many of the participants in this historic gathering.

While we walk the streets that George and Martha Washington frequented, we'll continue our discussion of Old Town Alexandria as an early American town and hear more stories of the people who worked to make the town—and our country—a place of prosperity and patriotism!

On this tour, we cross the Potomac River and visit the four major monuments that reside in Arlington, VA. This tour starts at the Pentagon Metro & Bus station. From the Metro station, we’ll walk to the Pentagon Memorial. After Pentagon, we’ll visit the Air Force Memorial, we’ll walk through Arlington Cemetery then visit the Netherlands Carillon, and we’ll end at the Marine Corps Memorial, better known as the Iwo Jima Monument. Along the way, you'll hear stories about the monuments, some history of Washington, DC, and the story of Arlington Cemetery.

Boston has long been world-renowned for its history and the role it played during the American Revolution. Today, it combines that history with one of the finest park systems in the country and BrighPath Tours is pleased to take you on a tour of its earliest park, the Boston Public Garden.
