The shipwreck of the Frolic lead to the founding of the town of Mendocino, California, and the discovery of redwood trees. We speak with archeologists who are studying this important early California event. The Frolic Shipwreck is now a California Underwater State Park.

Starting at the National Gallery of Art East building, we’ll walk down the Mall towards the Washington Monument and we'll end the tour at the National Museum of African-American History and Culture—a stunning museum and one of the newest in DC.

The Ellipse is one small area in front of the South Lawn of the White House. Although we don't have to cross a single street, this tour is a BIG challenge. Instead of the open areas similar to the National Mall, this is a very enclosed, highly secured part of DC. We're lucky to be able to tour here!
