  • Marlin Bonds - The Music Industry meets Tech
    May 14 2025

On this episode of The STL Bucket List Show, host Lucas Farrell sits down with Marlin Bonds—Founder & CEO of Hypno Loops, and a name you might recognize from the music world. Marlin is a 7x platinum, 2x Grammy-nominated, BMI award-winning producer and songwriter from St. Louis whose work has been featured everywhere—from Grey’s Anatomy and ESPN to K-pop chart-toppers and Netflix’s Love Is Blind.

But Marlin’s latest chapter is something completely different—and deeply personal. After the loss of both his father and newborn son, he began using affirmations and meditation to heal. When the tools available didn’t quite connect, he took his experience in the studio and created something new: a sound-based wellness tool designed to rewire your mindset through rhythm and repetition. That idea became Hypno Loops, a mindful tech platform that’s helping people break negative thought cycles and tap into self-growth through personalized audio experiences.

We dive into his journey from the music industry to mental health innovation, the science behind rhythmic looping, and how St. Louis continues to shape his story.

On this episode of The STL Bucket List Show, host Lucas Farrell sits down with Javia Gilliam-Sanford and Kaje Sanford, the husband-and-wife team behind Pour Decisions, one of the most creative mobile bars in St. Louis.
Their story started back in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, when Javia—an experienced sommelier—lost her job. Instead of backing down, they found a new path forward. They noticed how people’s relationships with alcohol were changing and decided to create a space where education, quality, and good vibes came first. From curated tastings and crafted cocktails to sharing the history and culture behind the drinks they love, Pour Decisions quickly became a community favorite.

Fast forward to today: not only do they run a thriving mobile bar business, but they’ve also opened The Passport Cocktail Bar, a spot that brings the flavors of the world to St. Louis, and they’re launching their first big event—The Art of Alcohol—happening June 14–15.

We get into all of it—the risks, the wins, the lessons, and what it really means to build something special for your city. Check out more about their upcoming event at theartofalcohol.com.
