  • Why Global Revival Is Exploding—And the West Is Missing It!
    Jul 2 2025

The global church is exploding with growth and miracles, but what’s their secret? We sit down with Ryan Skoog, founder of Venture & Co, to uncover how radical prayer, not just leadership principles, is fueling a worldwide revival.

Ryan’s ministry works in the “three UNs”—UNsafe, UNreached, and UNresourced parts of the world, where partners face persecution and miracles are commonplace. He shares eye-opening insights from his book, Lead With Prayer, revealing how the fastest-growing churches on earth are powered by a deep, authentic prayer life.

Join us as we dive into:

✅The shocking truth about prayer among Western leaders: Why more experience and education often lead to less prayer.
✅“Friendship First”: How dynamic prayer lives are built on simply “wasting time” with Jesus, not just a laundry list of requests.
✅Crafting a Day with God: Practical rhythms and habits to integrate prayer throughout your day, from morning psalms to blessing strangers.
✅From Spiritual Warfare to Miracles: Ryan shares a raw, personal story of how daily communion transformed his family’s battle with demonic nightmares and saved his business during COVID.
✅Prayer Forges Courage: Discover how spending time in God’s presence equips leaders to make tough decisions with humble confidence (hear the wild story of Ryan’s dad!).
✅Communal Prayer & Maximum Yield: How individual prayer ignites corporate movements, and how discerning God’s will through prayer can lead to unprecedented fruitfulness in ministry and life.

This conversation will challenge your assumptions about what prayer can be and inspire you to engage with God in a more profound, transformational way. Take the Bible seriously, but learn not to take yourself too seriously, as we explore the radical middle of Word + Spirit.

  • Holy Spirit Baptism: What Every Christian NEEDS To Know
    Jun 30 2025

Have you ever wondered what the Baptism of the Holy Spirit truly means? Join us as we journey through the Bible to bring clarity to this powerful Christian doctrine, exploring its Old Testament roots and New Testament fulfillment.

In this episode, we unravel the biblical texts that define the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, from Acts of the Apostles to Paul’s epistles. We’ll tackle the nuances of indwelling vs. empowerment, the significance of Pentecost, and the Old Testament prophecies that foretold the New Covenant outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

    We'll examine:

✅ The core debate: Is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit a subsequent or simultaneous experience with conversion?
✅ The classical Pentecostal position and their key proof texts from Acts, including the role of tongues and spiritual gifts.
✅ The prophetic connection between baptism with fire and God’s judgment or purification.
✅ A crucial dive into 1 Corinthians 12:13, clarifying the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a salvific event that unites all believers into Christ’s body.
✅ The historical context of Acts 2 and Acts 8 (Jews & Samaritans) versus Acts 10 (Gentiles) and why it matters for our understanding today.
✅ The significance of the Day of Pentecost and its powerful parallels with Old Testament events, inaugurating the New Covenant.
✅The crucial question: Is this just a semantic debate, or does it profoundly impact church unity, the gifts of the Spirit, and how we view fellow believers? (No “two-tiered Christians” here!)
✅ Our concise definition of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit from a “Radical Middle” perspective.

This discussion will equip you to understand this vital theological topic with clarity, charity, and a deeper appreciation for the power of the Holy Spirit in every believer’s life.

  • Neglected Prayer Practices That Could Save Your Prayer Life!
    Jun 25 2025

Do you feel stuck, dry, or disconnected in your prayer life—and don’t know why? In this episode of Remnant Radio, Joshua Lewis and Michael Rowntree sit down with Jeremy Linneman, pastor and author of Pour Out Your Heart: Discovering Joy, Strength, and Intimacy with God through Prayer, to uncover the forgotten prayer practices that the modern church has left behind—and why we desperately need to recover them.

Jeremy shares how his own church became a praying church, and how practices like lament, praying the Psalms, intercessory emotion, and even liturgical prayer have reshaped not only his community, but his own intimacy with God. We also explore how the Western church’s pursuit of positivity has stripped prayer of honesty, grief, and depth, leaving believers spiritually malnourished.

Why lament is essential to spiritual maturity

  • God Told Me! – When Prophets Refuse Church Leadership
    Jun 23 2025

Can Prophets Be Pastored? | Navigating Prophecy and Church Authority in the Charismatic Movement - Ever seen a prophet go rogue, claiming “God told me!” to bypass church leaders? We’re exploring the essential question of prophetic submission and healthy church culture.

In this episode of Remnant Radio, Josh Lewis, Michael Miller, and Michael Rowntree tackle a pressing question facing many charismatic churches today: Can prophetic people submit to local church leadership? Or more provocatively — what happens when prophets refuse to be pastored?

Too often, prophets are seen as untouchable figures who “hear directly from God” and use that perceived authority to bypass or even challenge pastoral leadership. We examine this cultural phenomenon in light of Scripture, offering pastoral insight, biblical parameters, and real-life stories from their own churches and ministries.

    We explore:
    * The dangers of prophetic elitism and spiritual manipulation
    * Biblical models of submission to elders and church order
    * When prophecy becomes a platform for rebellion
    * Historic abuses from movements like Montanism
    * The necessity of protocols, testing, and known character
    * How churches can cultivate a healthy prophetic culture without quenching the Spirit

If your church operates in the gifts of the Spirit — especially prophecy — this is a must-watch conversation. You'll walk away with practical wisdom on how to encourage the prophetic while protecting your church from division, doctrinal confusion, and cult-like authoritarianism.

00:00:00 Intro: Can Prophets Be Pastored?
00:03:22 Addressing Prophets Struggling with Church Authority
    00:16:15 Protocol for Prophetic Ministry

00:31:49 Mutual Submission & Submission to Church Leadership

  • Generational Curses: Fact or Fiction? Responding to Alisa Childers
    Jun 17 2025

Generational curses… are they a real thing the Bible talks about or something new? 🤔 We’re jumping into Alisa Childers’ video and getting real about the tough questions.

You might have seen Alisa Childers’ video on generational curses, and we wanted to jump in with a friendly, scriptural response. We fully respect Alisa’s heart for handling the Bible carefully, and we’re bringing that same energy to this conversation about generational curses and deliverance ministry.

We’re going to unpack some of the big questions that came up. Like, do people who need deliverance actually ask for it? Is this whole deliverance thing a new idea, or is it biblical? Did Jesus always make people repent before casting out demons? We’ll also dig into some classic Bible verses that get brought up, like Exodus 20 and Ezekiel 18, and figure out if they’re describing something or commanding something. Plus, we’ll look at what Neil Anderson and Sam Storms have to say about generational curses, and we’ll even touch on that tricky question: can a Christian actually have a generational curse?

Our goal here is to help you think through these often-debated topics in a way that’s solid and biblical. We want you to feel confident in your discernment and have a balanced understanding of generational curses and deliverance ministry, all rooted in the truth of God’s Word. Come hang out with us as we dive in!
