In Episode 2025_27 of The Martial Arts Lifestyle Podcast, host Tim Becherer interviews Wisconsin based martial artist Shawn McCarthy. Shawn has a background in karate, tae kwon do, tournament, and full contact fighting. In 1982 he discovered the Filipino Martial Arts which lead him to The Minnesota Kali Group and becoming a student under the legendary Rick Faye. From there, he gained his instructorship under Guro Dan Inosanto as well. He is the head instructor and founder of Combined Fighting Systems. Tune in and hear his story.

Jamie is the founder and head instructor of Affinity Martial Arts and is the host of the Formable Podcast. Jamie's story in the martial arts begins with an affinity for Ninjutsu and being invited at age 7 to a big ninja event in California. After the film "The Perfect Weapon" made him seek out the art of Kenpo, he eventually found Kali and began his journey in the Inosanto circles. Tune in and hear his story.
