  • Pinterest, pleats and other delicate matters
    May 20 2025

This week on Suddenly Thirty, Emily and Lilli dive into a little bit of everything — from the strange world of Pinterest algorithms to dreamy head spas, chaotic Uber rides, and the documentaries they can’t stop watching.

The girls chat about the new true crime documentaries and shows they’ve been watching, along with a few unexpected viewing highlights. In a more reflective moment, they discuss the lasting emotional impact of world-changing events and what it means to live through defining moments in history.

Pinterest has taken a very strange turn — they keep getting served photos of feet. Safe to say, if someone’s feet are going to be on their feed, they’d rather it be on FeetFinder and not while they’re searching for interior inspo.

Everyone’s talking about Uber ratings, and the girls couldn’t help but take a look. They dive into their own ride-share experiences, exploring the highs and lows of Uber culture and questioning what really influences those mysterious scores.

To wrap things up, they share some stunning home decor finds, including the chicest (and cheapest) pleated lampshade currently on the market.

  • Gossiping, gifting and spiralling over the Kardashians
    May 12 2025

In this week’s catch-up episode, Emily and Lilli sit down for a good old-fashioned chat. They debrief on their Mother’s Day — from gifts and celebrations to the sweet (and not-so-sweet) moments that made up the day.

They also unpack some neighbour dramas, discuss whether they’ll ever feel “done” having kids, and reflect on their recent shopping habits and seasonal wardrobe updates.

Plus, a deep (and slightly unhinged) dive into the Kardashians — including thoughts on Kris Jenner’s legacy and what might happen when the era of the Kardashian-Jenners comes to an end.

  • Big news, big feels and a bit of chaos
    May 5 2025

Trigger warning: This episode includes conversations around pregnancy and some challenging health experiences. If you’d prefer to sit this one out, that’s completely okay. Take care of yourself.

After an unexpected two-week break, the girls are back with a big old catch up and some very special news! From their beautiful best friend’s wedding to life behind the scenes, there is lots to unpack!

Lilli shares some very special news with you all (you heard it here first!) and opens up about the journey she has been navigating over the past few months. This is a raw and honest chat about what really happens during those first few months of growing life — the joy, the challenges and everything that comes with it.

The girls also chat about the truly questionable Mother’s Day marketing that somehow has made an appearance again this year. One more time for the people in the back — Mum’s are not slobs! They don’t want polyester robes and Anko Pajamas — they just want to feel appreciated, seen and loved.

And finally, we want to take a moment to acknowledge all the mums this weekend — the new mums, the mums-to-be, those longing to become mums, those missing their mums, and those who find this day tough. However you’re feeling this Mother’s Day, we see you and we’re holding space for you.

It’s good to be back Dirty Girls — we have missed you!

  • Out of office, into autumn and home for Easter
    Apr 14 2025

In this week’s episode, Lilli and Emily cover all the essentials — from quick getaways to fashion in the changing season and everything in between.

The girls recap Emily’s whirlwind weekend away — complete with airport antics, unexpected expenses and a few too many laughs. From bidding on flight upgrades to people watching at its finest, they share the beauty of the 24-hour holiday and why short trips are sometimes exactly what you need (and how to accidentally make them feel luxe).

The girls move to a thoughtful discussion on fashion in the shifting season and what’s actually worth buying right now. They reflect on finding the balance between comfort and confidence, and how building a capsule wardrobe has brought more joy to their wardrobes (but maybe a bit less fun?).

Plus the girls chat through their Easter long weekend plans, family traditions and the joy of creating rituals as life continues to grow and shift.

  • Big feels, small screens and changing friendships
    Mar 31 2025

In this week’s episode, Lilli and Emily catch up on all things screen time, storytelling and the slow shift to the cooler months. From reflections on what’s been living rent-free on their screens to conversations about friendship dynamics, parenting shows, and the joy of a good dopamine dressing moment, the girls dive deep into the things that have been on their minds.

They chat about the shows that have captivated them lately and how delayed gratification can sometimes make a story all the more rewarding. The girls unpack friendship dynamics in their thirties — how easy it is to fall into the catch-up trap and the importance of creating new memories rather than just rehashing old ones.

    We hope you enjoy!

  • The rise and fall of the girl boss era
    Mar 24 2025

In this week’s episode, Emily and Lilli explore the fall of the ‘girl boss’ era—a time that dominated much of their early twenties and career beginnings, where working yourself to the bone was worn like a badge of honour. They reflect on how hustle culture was glorified, sold to us as empowerment, and how productivity was tied to our worth. From side hustles and start-ups to full-time jobs and passion projects, it felt like the only way to succeed was to do more — more hours, more effort, more visibility, more pressure.

But now, as they settle further into their thirties, the narrative is shifting. Emily and Lilli talk about the growing rejection of that relentless grind, and the quiet power in doing enough. They unpack the societal pressure to love your job, the myth that turning your passion into your career is the ultimate goal, and the reality that many people are stepping back from burnout and choosing slower, more balanced paths.

It’s a thoughtful, honest chat about ambition, identity, and the beauty in redefining success on your own terms — whether that’s climbing the ladder, building something of your own or simply finding peace in doing work that supports the life you want to live.
