    May 25 2025

In this edition of the DAN ON SPORTS podcast, I break it all down, including how the commissioner has made hundreds of millions of dollars, during his 19-year tenure.

  • No place for this kind of hate
    May 24 2025
Good morning, all!Good for Boston Red Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks to speak out about the threats he and his family have received on social media, the result of his having a couple of poor relief outings. I break it all down here on the latest DAN ON SPORTS podcast. To say some posts on social media have gotten out of hand is an understatement. The evil and hateful comments being spewed behind fake accounts or real accounts, for that matter, are sick. • Is new Pope a Cubs fan?
    May 9 2025
Good morning, all!Is new Pope Leo IVX a Cubs fan? The first-ever Pope from the United States was born in Chicago and various media sites are proclaiming he was a Cubs fan, but his brother isn’t buying it.But why would he chose Leo? Maybe it was after Leo Durocher, the Cubs manager, who brought the morbid franchise back into contention in the late 1960’s, at about the time the 69-year-old pope was a teenager. If you ask me, it’s the last place White Sox who need more divine intervention than the first place Cubs, but the north side Cubbies really gained attention, after the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost to lead the Roman Catholic church. That in itself, by the way, is ironic: that the cardinals would install a Cubs fan as pope; after all, the Chicago Cubs arch rivals are the Cardinals from St. Louis. Maybe he really is a White Sox fan. Here are some other DAN ON SPORTS top stories for Friday, May 9, 2025:* Sportsbook has Knicks, up 2-0, as underdogs over Celtics* Celts-Knicks Game 3 ticket prices at MSG approaching Super Bowl level* Pierce walks the walk* Now this takes the cake.
