    In Episode 1 Dom visits the 12th century Fairfield Church (aka St Thomas Becket) the most iconic of all the churches on Romney Marsh. It sits isolated in a field grazed by sheep amongst drainage ditches (dykes) - the houses of the original medieval inhabitants of Fairfield have long since disappeared.
