Note: The Marsh Frog, known locally as the "laughing frog", is a large species of frog which was introduced to Britain in 1935. A Mr Edward Percy Smith, a playwright, brought 12 Marsh Frogs back from Hungary to his garden pond at Stone-in-Oxney, just off the Romney Marsh.

    In Episode 2 - Dom visits St Mary in the Marsh. It sits in the heart of the Romney Marsh, three miles from New Romney.

    It's has a few well known people people who have called it home over the years or who are now laid to rest in the graveyard of the parish church St Mary the Virgin.

    “Romney Marsh Ramblings” is a captivating journey through one of England’s most unique and enigmatic landscapes.

    In Episode 1 Dom visits the 12th century Fairfield Church (aka St Thomas Becket) the most iconic of all the churches on Romney Marsh. It sits isolated in a field grazed by sheep amongst drainage ditches (dykes) - the houses of the original medieval inhabitants of Fairfield have long since disappeared.
