  • 75: Organizing Your Missionary's Room with Tracy Hoth
    Jun 9 2025

    Send us a text

Cleaning out your missionary’s room can bring up all kinds of emotions—grief, tenderness, overwhelm, and sometimes even guilt. Whether you’re eager to reclaim the space or clinging to their water bottle like it’s a lifeline (been there!), this episode is here to help.

Organizer coach and life coach Tracy Hoth joins me to discuss the emotional and practical sides of this process. We discuss how to navigate letting go, how to decide what to keep, and how organizing can actually become a gift for your missionary (and for future you).

This conversation is packed with beautiful reframes, including:

    • Why feeling emotional is completely normal
    • How to start when it all feels too hard
    • What to do with mission suits, medals, and everything in between
    • Why praying as you clean can bring unexpected peace
    • How to leave little love notes for your missionary to find later

If you’ve been avoiding their room because it’s just too much, this episode is for you. You’re not alone. And this can be a sweet, sacred step in your own missionary mom journey.

If your missionary is about to leave—or already out—and your body feels anxious, tense, or just “off,” this episode is for you.

Today I walk you through how your nervous system responds to stress, what Team Hyper and Team Hypo really look like for missionary moms, and how to gently guide yourself back to Team Resilience.

Using tools from Leah Davidson, nervous system expert, and my own framework, I’ll show you what resilient people do—and how you can apply these practices when emotions feel high and control feels low.

    You’ll learn:

    • Why your anxiety is a normal nervous system response
    • The surprising shift from Team Hyper to Team Hypo
    • 4 ways to build real resilience (without pretending you’re fine)

  • 72: Your Thoughts Are the Story
    May 19 2025

    Send us a text

Hi friends—welcome back! Quick life update: I started a new job, met some great people, and explored new parts of Utah. But while I was away, my husband mentioned there were big storms in St. Louis—right where my son is serving. My old patterns of worry kicked in, but this time, I caught it. I reminded myself: I trust him. I trust God. It’s going to be okay.

That’s what inspired today’s episode. We’re talking about the quiet, sneaky thoughts running in the background—thoughts that shape how we experience everything.

President Nelson’s invitation to Think Celestial isn’t just a spiritual idea—it’s a practical tool for the moments when your mind starts spinning. Today, I’ll teach you how to:

    • Recognize when your brain is gathering negative evidence
    • Pause and ask: Is this thought lifting me higher or pulling me lower?
    • Shift into more peaceful, faith-filled thinking—even when life is still hard

We’ll explore real-life examples and simple ways to change the stories your brain loves to repeat. And we’ll anchor this in Philippians 4:8—think on these things.

God isn’t asking for perfect thinking. Just one thought higher.

If this resonated with you, send me a DM or email. I love hearing how these episodes land for you! Have a beautiful week, and I’ll see you next time.

  • 71: Growing Pains
    May 12 2025

    Send us a text

Hello, sweet friends. This podcast is my little love project, poured straight from my heart to yours. Whether you’ve been here from the start or just found me, I’m so grateful you’re here. If there’s ever a topic you’re struggling with that I haven’t covered, please reach out—I’d love to hear from you. My email is in the show notes, and you can always DM me on Instagram. Hearing from you is my favorite part of this work.

Today, we’re talking about growing pains—the kind that stretch your heart, not just your body. When we send our missionaries out into the world, they grow—but so do we. And just like those tender moments when our babies teethed or their legs ached from growth spurts, this kind of growth is often painful. But that pain? It’s not a sign something’s wrong. It’s a sign something sacred is happening.

We’ll explore why life is about growing again and again, why struggle is part of the plan, and how both you and your missionary are becoming something more—together, even if you’re far apart. I share personal stories, the honest wrestle of letting go, and powerful reminders from Elder Oaks, President Nelson, and Elder Uchtdorf to help you reframe pain as part of your divine journey.

So take a deep breath, mama. You’re not alone. You’re becoming. And it’s holy work.

If this episode resonates with you, I’d love to hear about it. And if you’re walking through your own growing pains, remember—some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven. But they do come.

  • Bonus: A Grace Filled Mother's Day
    May 11 2025

    Send us a text

Happy Mother’s Day, my sweet friends. Today, I’m doing something I’ve never done before—sharing a bonus episode just for you.

Mother’s Day has sometimes felt more tender than joyful if you're anything like me. Maybe you’ve heard that loud, critical voice in your head reminding you of every misstep, every moment you weren’t enough. But what if today, we rebelled against that voice? What if we chose grace instead of shame?

Join me for a few deep breaths and a heartfelt reminder: you are enough, exactly as you are, right now. You don’t have to run faster than you have strength. You don’t have to earn your worthiness. And you don’t have to be perfect to be the perfect mom for your children.

In this episode, I share my own tender Mother’s Day memories with my missionaries—including a surprise bouquet all the way from Zimbabwe—and why this year, I’m inviting you to make Mother’s Day about you. Celebrate the unseen moments, the silent prayers, the way you keep showing up even when it’s hard.

Take a moment today to breathe, place your hand over your heart, and say out loud, “I am enough.” Because you are. You always have been.

    Happy, peaceful, grace-filled Mother’s Day.

P.S. If you have a quiet moment today, write down how you’re feeling and a few ways you’re learning to extend grace to yourself. That’s the kind of tradition worth starting.

  • 70: "Dear Mission President, Please Don't Judge My Kid"
    May 5 2025

    Send us a text

Ever had the urge to email your missionary’s mission president to explain your child’s quirks, apologize for 18 years of parenting, and offer a few disclaimers? Yeah… me too.

In today’s episode, we’re lightening things up and learning to laugh at the moments that usually send us into a shame spiral. Because let’s face it—sometimes the best medicine for a panicked mom brain is a little humor, especially when the situation is really just burnt toast, not a house fire.

    Here’s what we cover:

    • Why our urge to explain or defend doesn’t make us crazy—it just means we love hard
    • How to recognize when our nervous system is overreacting (hello, Team Hyper)
    • A collection of imaginary “Dear President” letters that will make you laugh out loud in the Costco parking lot
    • The power of laughter to regulate emotions and break shame’s spell
    • How to tell yourself the truer story when fear kicks in
    • A powerful reminder that we’re not in charge of perfecting our missionaries (thank goodness for that!)

We wrap it all up with a story from a college professor that reminds us why taking life too seriously can be dangerous—and why lightening up is sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do.

This one’s for every mom who’s ever wanted to fix, explain, or defend—and is learning to laugh instead.

✨ Bonus Challenge: Write your own “Dear President” letter (but don’t send it).

  • 69: Loneliness Can be Sacred
    Apr 28 2025

    Send us a text

When the house is quiet and the calendar emptier than it's ever been, loneliness can feel like a fog that won't lift. In this episode, I’m sharing my personal experience with that soul-deep ache—especially after sending off my youngest missionary and transitioning out of full-time motherhood.

We’re not talking about the kind of loneliness that a girls’ night can fix. We're talking about the kind that sneaks in during dinner-for-one, lingers in the silence, and makes you question your worth and purpose.

    Here’s what we dive into:

    • The difference between being alone and feeling unseen
    • How loneliness is often grief in disguise
    • Why naming the emotion is the first step to softening it
    • How to stay onto your brain when it feeds you victim-y thoughts
    • Tiny, meaningful ways to reconnect—with yourself, with God, and with others

I also share a story about fear, surgery, and a wise yoga teacher that helped me shift how I move through hard emotions. If you’re in a season of quiet, emptiness, or transition, this episode is here to remind you: you are not broken, you're not behind, and you're not alone.
