  • Why Trim Healthy Mamas Eat Carbs! | Ep. 49
    Jun 11 2025

Do you feel trapped in the diet cycle, trying every new health trend only to end up frustrated and confused? Vivian chats with sisters Pearl and Serene, the powerhouse duo behind Trim Healthy Mama, about finding sustainable balance without deprivation. They share how Scripture guided their journey from extreme dieting to a more inclusive approach, revealing why carbs aren't the enemy and how hormonal health transforms midlife. Vivian and the sisters laugh about everything from bangs to brain fog, while offering hope that your best, most vibrant days are still ahead. Take away practical wisdom for thriving in every season of life, with God leading the way.

    GUEST(s) BIO

Sisters Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison’s story started when they wrote a book about food freedom for women and called it Trim Healthy Mama.

It was a self-published book with no expectations, no advertising budget, and no celebrity endorsements. It became a movement as the word caught on and friends shared their success “on plan” with others. Trim Healthy Mama became a best-seller, inspired a viral community, and developed a food line. Now, close to a million people have slimmed down and gained better health eating this way.

They share a passion for healthy eating and both have large, boisterous families and love to experiment in the kitchen on ways to best nourish their families while staying slim and healthy in the process. They are former Christian recording artists who traveled extensively for the record label but relinquished their touring careers to embrace a life at home with children, dinners, dishes, and diapers.

  • The Eyes Have It: A Blinded Woman’s Awareness Fight After Lasik | Ep. 48
    May 28 2025

What if a routine Lasik procedure left you legally blind? After seeking freedom from glasses, Lorrie Tevebaugh faced a devastating eye condition that changed her life forever. Through honest conversation with Vivian about grief, self-acceptance, and faith's role in healing, Lorrie shares her journey from active outdoor enthusiast to low-vision disability. As both women explore the importance of reaching out during dark times, Lorrie reveals how her mission to raise awareness about Lasik complications has become a testimony to God's faithfulness, helping others find hope in their own struggles.

    GUEST BIO

Lorrie Tevebaugh is a Christ-following wife, mom, and “Nan.” She is also a former teacher who now spends her days arranging government travel and evenings and weekends with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Lorrie loves to travel, hike, run, boat, camp, visit national parks, and do as much as she can outside.

After Lasik eye surgery left her legally blinded, Lorrie found support from the Lord, her friends, and her family. As a result of the procedure, her corneas melted, and she was left seeing only colors and shapes. Even with the help of large, hard contacts called sclerals, and bifocal glasses, her vision is still seriously compromised.

Today, Lorrie speaks out on the dangers of unnecessary eye procedures. Lorrie raises awareness by sharing her story of overcoming this life-altering setback and encourages those considering the surgery to do their research. She is also a supporter of those who are suffering severe and permanent complications due to eyesight-correcting procedures.

  • The Mindful Caregiver: Self-Care Strategies from Lucas' Mom | Ep. 45
    Apr 16 2025

What does it take to navigate life's most challenging caregiving journeys with both grit and grace? Vivian explores this question with author and nonprofit founder Jessica Ronne in a deeply authentic conversation about faith, grief, and purpose. As Jess shares her path from receiving a devastating prenatal diagnosis to losing her first husband to brain cancer, Vivian's thoughtful questions help unpack the complex emotions of wrestling with God through anger and loss. Together they dive into the realities of being a lifelong caregiver, with Jess offering practical wisdom on accepting help and finding micro-moments of joy, while Vivian draws out the story of how God transformed Jess’ challenges into a beautiful ministry – including an unexpected second love story that made headlines. Their candid discussion reminds us that even in life's most demanding seasons, surrendering to God's plan can lead to extraordinary purpose.

    GUEST BIO

Jessica Ronne is the author of several books, including Caregiving with Grit and Grace, and the associate producer of the documentary Unseen: How We’re Failing Parent Caregivers, which is available on streaming. She is the founder and Executive Director of The Lucas Project, a non-profit dedicated to providing recognition, respite, and resources to parent caregivers.

Jess’ inspiring journey began when she became a widow within ten years of marriage after her husband passed away from a brain tumor in 2010. Left to raise their four children, including one needing lifelong care, she joined the other 16.3 million individuals serving as caretakers to children with special needs.

Jess’ life took a surprising turn when she was introduced to a young widower and father of three. In 2011, they blended their families with eight children. Drawing from her own experiences, Jess provides caregiving advice on the importance of being present with loved ones, embracing challenges as personal growth, finding strength in faith, and sharing with other caregivers.

Jess and her husband Ryan live in Michigan with their eight children. She is also a speaker and podcast host of Coffee with Caregivers.
