Sisters Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison’s story started when they wrote a book about food freedom for women and called it Trim Healthy Mama.

It was a self-published book with no expectations, no advertising budget, and no celebrity endorsements. It became a movement as the word caught on and friends shared their success “on plan” with others. Trim Healthy Mama became a best-seller, inspired a viral community, and developed a food line. Now, close to a million people have slimmed down and gained better health eating this way.

They share a passion for healthy eating and both have large, boisterous families and love to experiment in the kitchen on ways to best nourish their families while staying slim and healthy in the process. Lorrie Tevebaugh is a Christ-following wife, mom, and “Nan.” She is also a former teacher who now spends her days arranging government travel and evenings and weekends with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Lorrie loves to travel, hike, run, boat, camp, visit national parks, and do as much as she can outside.

After Lasik eye surgery left her legally blinded, Lorrie found support from the Lord, her friends, and her family. As a result of the procedure, her corneas melted, and she was left seeing only colors and shapes. Even with the help of large, hard contacts called sclerals, and bifocal glasses, her vision is still seriously compromised.

Today, Lorrie speaks out on the dangers of unnecessary eye procedures. Lorrie raises awareness by sharing her story of overcoming this life-altering setback and encourages those considering the surgery to do their research.
