  • Resumen

  • In the second part of her personal story, Vicky recounts, with her Audible Editor, Martha Little, the weeks leading up to the delivery of her article for Vanity Fair: how Jeffrey made implicit and explicit threats towards her, her unborn children and her husband. He was very worried about what she would write about the Farmer sisters and their allegations of sexual assault. Jeffrey also bullied her and exploited his network of powerful friends until he got what he wanted.

Explains away media collusion

This piece was editorially, unnecessarily sensational while at the same time rationalizing of the close, daily and, at times, manipulative and dishonest relationship as between the author and her subject. In fairness, it was so saccherine, I could not finish it. It proclaimed to be brave journalism when it should have been embarassed. I guess this is what passes for gonzo journalism today: effete, connected socialite with access to Epstein genuflects for daily access, wiretaps phone conversations, and explains away the softball tenor with a purported desire to obtain the scoop and a more than occasional footnote to remind listeners it was too pre-metoo to be too confrontational. Not convinced this is anything but hobby journalism for an elite New Yorker who had unaccidental access to the uber rich.
