Meh

Are all Audicted employees millennials? It sounds like my old study hall. They review some great audiobooks, but an older voice or two would be appreciated. From an old lady.

Looking Ahead

Story: 4-Stars
************

This episode shifted gears towards 'coming soon' titles instead of already-released audiobooks. Beyond covering the books themselves, the hosts provide some interesting insights into how publishers present their wares, the industry buzz surrounding certain impending releases, and known narrator choices for those who make selections with that as an important criteria. Given that I listened to this episode well after these titles were actually released, it was interesting to note how the editors' choices aligned with actual critical and commercial success (spoiler: they're pretty good!).

What I appreciated most about this episode is that there seemed to be a concerted effort to expand genre coverage significantly. While the hosts are clearly more comfortable speaking to their passions (aren't we all?), covering things like a fantasy novel and an academic religious title is a welcome bit of diversity.

Performance: 3-Stars
*******************

The hosts continue to improve the rhythm and pace of the show. There's a clear agenda that keeps the episode from devolving into the chaos to which multi-participant podcasts can fall victim.
