    Lisa Martello is a Director at Resolex which specialises in building social competency in major projects teams. Describing herself as a project manager by trade, Lisa has over 15 years’ experience leading major rail, aviation and construction projects in the UK and Australia with a focus on how we do things, and how we treat people, not just what we achieve in the end.


    Lisa is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace having previously held positions as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) in Australia, Chair of their Diversity & Inclusion Portfolio, and Professional Mentor with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. She is also the Founder and Content Creator of the fast-growing, sarcasm-fuelled social media account, Catching Bees.

    Thulasi is a Chartered Systems Engineer and a Fellow with the IET. Shortly after graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree, she started out as a Signalling Designer in the railway sector. From there she moved to telecoms design both in rail and highways where she developed a passion for system integration and systems engineering as a discipline. Thulasi is now Head of Systems Engineering for Rail and part of mobility at Arcadis and has been leading several major projects in this area and instilling a whole system approach.

    Parminder has over three decades of experience in the construction industry, delivering projects in healthcare, education, residential, and charitable and religious sectors.

    As an Asian female in a predominantly male industry, Parminder has built her career on collaboration, problem-solving, and a commitment to quality aligned with Clients financial budgets.


    After earning a scholarship to study Construction Management at University, she gained valuable experience with leading contractors before founding Darcy Construction in 1999. Under her leadership, Darcy has delivered a variety of successful projects and developed a reputation for reliability and attention to detail.


    A notable highlight of her career was helping deliver Southall’s Sikh temple, a significant community landmark – indeed the largest Gurdwara outside of Punjab when it was constructed and then opened by King Charles III. Parminder is passionate about creating spaces that meet client expectations while contributing positively to the communities they serve.


    Construction is not only her passion but her legacy.

    Jyoti is the Group Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for Costain, where she is responsible for implementing Costain’s Inclusion Strategy. She has worked for the company for 11 years and in that time was a founding member of Costain’s LGBT+ & Allies Network, of which she is now the Chair. She is a Chartered Civil Engineer by background, and in her spare time, is a Trustee of the Primary Science Teaching Trust and an EDI Advisor on the Samaritans Strategic Advisory Board. She was selected as one of the 2021 Top 50 Women in Engineering by the Women’s Engineering Society and won the 2022 Asian Women of Achievement award in Construction, Infrastructure and Real Estate. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Biomimicry which we’ll hear more about in this episode.

Leveraging the valuable insights acquired through her varied roles in the built environment, Raynee is dedicated to promoting STEM, sustainability, and the art of placemaking.


    Beyond the corporate landscape, Raynee is Vice-Chair of Smart Works Charity in Birmingham, to empower women into employment. She also serves as a board member for the Infrastructure Leadership Board for a not-for-profit organisation called the Centre for New Midlands actively contributing to cross-sector collaboration to grow the Midlands region.


    With a heart for community impact, her commitment extends further as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Prosper Multi Academy Trust in Solihull, where her strategic decisions contribute significantly to the future of primary education.

    Zainab studied Civil Engineering at Brunel University followed by a full scholarship from the Women's Engineering Society (WES) to study a Structural Engineering MSc. Zainab now designs new buildings and small refurbishment projects across all sectors.


    As a social value champion and EDI team member for her organisation, Carbon Clean, she helps to define the strategy and deliver on social value commitments. Zainab also volunteers as a board member for the 'Association for Black and Ethnic Minority Engineers,' (AFBE) where she is the team leader for the 'Making Engineering Hot,' which works with young people from black and other ethnic minority groups to expose them to careers in engineering.


    Finally in 2022, Zainab was listed 'Top 100 Women in Engineering,' by WES, won the CN & NCE, 'Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering,' award and in 2023, Zainab was awarded the 'WES Prize,' at the IET Young Women in Engineering Awards.

    Divya is a civil engineer, with over 17 years’ experience across the project life cycle in programme and project management, cost management and quantity surveying. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Major Programme Management at the University of Oxford where she is a Director’s award scholar. Divya grew up in India, where she studied engineering and then worked for over 10 years in the surface transportation sector in public private partnership projects. Her career journey in the UK began in 2018 with Mace’s Consult Bid team as a Senior Bid Coordinator. Divya then progressed to manage strategic bids. She moved to a delivery role at HS2 Euston in April 2021. She has also worked at Places for London as a programme manager and is now at Sizewell C.


    Her diverse experience and engineering background enhance her ability to find solutions to complex problems. Passionate about encouraging young people to pursue careers in the built environment, Divya volunteers as an Enterprise Advisor to local secondary school.
