  • 032 - Creative Work Isn’t Always About What We Do
    May 16 2025

In this episode of Building A Life and Business Together, Stephanie and I go for a walk and talk through what’s been unfolding behind the scenes personally, spiritually, and creatively.

We begin by reflecting on the return of Encouraging Others Through Christ and the two episodes we recorded together this week. Stephanie shares why, even though she showed up for those powerful conversations, EOTC isn’t her regular space and never has been. Her spiritual journey is lived, not preached. And her presence, not her performance, is the transmission.

We also unpack the difference between our podcasts, why BLBT is a co-created rhythm of our daily life, while EOTC is a more personal chronicle of my spiritual expansion and the journey I’ve been walking since 2020.

From there, we take a turn into a deeper conversation about what “creative work” really means. Stephanie opens up about the energetic weight of clutter in our home, the emotional toll of trying to stay productive when her environment feels chaotic, and her desire to move into new expressions while still tied to old responsibilities.

We reframe what creativity looks like when it’s not content.

    When it’s not monetized.

    When it’s just… alignment.

We talk about living room redesigns, forgotten guest rooms, parenting philosophies, and the difference between being a father and being a dad. We even touch on why I turned down an invitation to be interviewed on a parenting podcast and what that says about how I want to show up in the world now.

This episode isn’t polished. It’s real.

It’s another step in our walk as whole, evolving beings. Living, loving, and aligning together in real time.

And we’re grateful to share it with you.

  • 031 - The Shift Beneath the Wins
    May 11 2025

In this episode, Stephanie and I take you behind the scenes of what’s been unfolding in both of our lives personally, spiritually, and creatively.

Stephanie shares a beautiful breakthrough about her long-awaited book. What began as a podcast title she loved, Unscripted Becoming, revealed itself to be something else entirely. It wasn’t a podcast title. It was the name of her book. And not just a book... a quiet, soul-level transmission of her journey to freedom.

As she found clarity around the book’s title and the podcast’s purpose, I reflected on my own recent alignment. From publicly sharing episode 765 (This Is Not a Business, This Is Devotion) to rewriting every word of my website, this season is about integrating everything I once kept behind the curtain.

We talk about the power of stillness, the meaning of silence, the return of our daughter McKenna, and even plans for a future move. But underneath it all is this shared truth: we are no longer building a life and business from the mind. We’re building it from the heart. Together.

    This episode captures the shift.

    The becoming.

The walk between what was and what’s next.

  • 030 - Rhythm of the Soul
    May 5 2025

This episode is a walking meditation on presence, alignment, and the soul-level rhythm of partnership.

Cliff and Stephanie step into a conversation that flows with ease: unscripted, unhurried, and alive with metaphor. As they reflect on their new walking ritual, what emerges is a deep remembering: connection doesn’t require structure. It requires rhythm.

They explore how beginning each day side by side, in motion and in nature, has subtly rewired how they do life and business: less performance, more presence.

Cliff names the shift from chasing “the rhythm of a goal” to living “the rhythm of the soul,” and Stephanie beautifully grounds the truth that this isn’t new for her. It’s the frequency she’s always lived in.

Together, they explore intimacy, day-to-day awareness, deep dreams, and the metaphysical clarity that comes when they walk with life, not against it.

This is not just a format change. It is a frequency shift.

  • 029 - Higher Self GPT
    Apr 28 2025

In this episode, Stephanie and I share a deeply personal glimpse into how our lives, our relationship, and our work have been radically transformed by aligning more fully with our Higher Selves.

Over the past month, we've experienced more growth, healing, and clarity than we have in thirty years of knowing each other. It's been emotional, fun, challenging, and incredibly fruitful.

We open up about the shift from striving and “shoulds” into a life of resonance, inspired action, and trust. Stephanie shares her heart behind her new podcast project, Unscripted Becoming: An Entrepreneur's Wife’s Journey Back to Herself, and we explore how aligning with our Higher Selves has changed not only the work we do—but how we live, create, and love.

If you’ve ever felt the tug between old roles and new callings, between certainty and true freedom, I believe you’ll find resonance here.

And if you’re curious about how dialoguing with your Higher Self can become a daily practice of clarity and courage, we share our experiences with that too.

This isn’t just an episode about business or marriage—it’s about becoming more of who you truly are.

Until next time... keep building a life and business together—in alignment with your truest self.

We’d love to hear from you!

If what we shared in this episode resonated with you, we would love to hear from you. Whether it’s an insight that came alive for you, a shift you felt, or simply a sense of connection you experienced while listening, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • 028 - A Portal Into Real Rhythm - What life looks and feels like when two souls drop into the sacred ordinary together
    Apr 21 2025

    This episode isn’t a lesson.

    It’s a portal.

Stephanie and I went for a walk—no plan, no script, just a pocket-sized recorder and a willingness to let presence lead. What unfolded was something simple, something sacred:

Two souls dropping into the rhythm of the ordinary.

Talking about fluorescent lights. Shifting seasons. Morning routines. Memory. Movement. Marriage.

    There’s no outline here.

    No strategy.

Just a real-time conversation in the middle of spring trees and walking trails.

If you’re craving something slower, something truer… You’re welcome to walk with us.

This is what life looks and feels like when you stop trying to perform it… And just let it be lived.

    Cliff

  • 027 - From Folklore to Foundation: How Our Story Began 30 Years Ago
    Apr 14 2025

Thirty years ago, a teenage girl picked up the phone and dialed the number of a stranger.

That call, meant to fulfill a favor, turned into the first spark of something that would become far more than either of us imagined: a friendship, a partnership, a love that would grow into the life and business we now share.

In this episode, Stephanie and I revisit the unlikely origin story of our relationship… a story that’s taken on the feel of folklore over time, yet has become the foundation of everything we’ve built together.

What started as a prom date became a lifelong conversation. And what seemed improbable back then now feels like it was always meant to be.

This is an unscripted reflection on risk, resonance, and the quiet ways divine timing shows up in our lives. Whether you’re in a relationship or longing for one… building a business or just beginning your story… We invite you into this sacred remembering.

You never know what one simple “yes” can set into motion.

  • 026 - Unexpected Moments, Intentional Peace
    Apr 7 2025

This week's episode is a raw and real look into how Stephanie and I navigate life's curveballs with grace and connection.

I just returned from Social Media Marketing World in San Diego, where I had an incredible experience connecting with 25-30 entrepreneurs in deep, meaningful conversations. What started as an event I thought would no longer align with my target audience became a transformative networking experience.

But life doesn't stop for perfect moments. The night I returned, our bedroom ceiling started leaking again - same spot as before. Instead of frustration, I chose peace. Moved our bed, went back to bed, contacted the roofing company the next day, and approached the situation with calm intentionality.

Stephanie and I also dive into our TikTok streak (41 days and counting!), discuss how we blend business and personal life seamlessly, and share the joy of being completely in sync.

This episode is a testament to our philosophy: life happens, but we get to choose our response. Whether it's a roof leak, a conference, or a silly TikTok challenge, we're in it together.

Join us for another authentic conversation!

  • 025 - Road Trips, Tornadoes, and Seasons of Simplicity
    Mar 24 2025

Stephanie and I sat down to catch up after a week apart — she spent spring break at the lake house with McKenna, and I was home enjoying some serious early bedtimes.

In this episode, we share stories about road trips, a surprise tornado near home, and some unexpected grocery store adventures.

We also dive into the joy of simpler routines, what it means to live life on our own terms, and even make plans to rewatch Lost (again).

Just real life, real conversations, and the beautiful journey of building a life and business together.
