  • Birthdays
    May 22 2025

It was my birthday this week, and I like to call this 'birthday season' in my family, because there are more family birthdays coming up this summer. I wanted to share this one again to remind us that age is not just a number. Birthdays are a great opportunity to reflect on our choices, purpose and vision for life. I am actually now in my 40s. They say time flies, but remember that YOU are the pilot. Have a lovely weekend.

  • Forgiveness
    May 16 2025

In this episode, I am talking about how we deal with hurt and racism in a way that helps us to choose happiness over stress. When we forgive, we are not just doing others a favour, we are protecting our own mental health. Some things are easier than others to forgive, but when we forgive, it frees us to stay happy and productive, which I think is the best revenge. Have a lovely weekend.

  • Punctuality
    May 9 2025

This is a bit of a difficult topic for me because I am not always on time, even though I am someone who is keen on time management and intentional living. It is something I am working on personally and professionally, but without making excuses, I wanted to share a different way of thinking about punctuality. There is a bigger picture to consider and sometimes we need to prioritize purpose and people over punctuality. Even as a GP (family doctor), I might give a depressed patient more than the scheduled ten minutes and run late, so that I can sleep well after a job well done. Should we be led by the clock or by the Spirit? What do you think?

  • Irreplaceable
    Apr 24 2025

I'm sure many people of my generation will be humming the Beyonce song after reading the title of this podcast. This one is not about replaceable boyfriends, although I hope that it makes us all reflect on how we have been in our work and home relationships. I am sharing this one again because it reminded me of the old poem, The Indispensable Man, which I referred to in my latest motivational book to be released next week. Be sure to follow me on Amazon to be alerted when "When You Love and Hate Your Job" is released on May 1 (International workers Day). Have a good weekend!

  • Working From Home
    Apr 17 2025

Five years post-pandemic, working from home has now become normal for many people. There are, of course, pros and cons for this. Some people have even found it detrimental to their health and social life, while others might not be able to work if not for this option. I am sharing this one again to help us reflect on how we can be efficient and intentional about this, as a way of choosing happiness over stress.

Be sure to follow me on Amazon to be alerted when my new motivational book, "When You Love and Hate Your Job" is released on May 1 (International workers Day). Have a good weekend!

  • Fridays
    Apr 10 2025

What is so special about Fridays, especially now that people can work flexibly? Is it the fact that most people are off work and school at weekends and we can relax together? Is it because we need a Saturday lie-in? Or is there just more fun stuff happening at the weekend? I am sharing this one again to help us reflect on how we can choose happiness over stress, and have that Friday feeling everyday.

  • Diligence
    Apr 3 2025

People underestimate the power of consistency. We often underestimate the importance of diligence and neglect the value of discipline. I am sharing this one again today to remind us to keep being our best wherever we find ourselves. It is often the boring and dry small tasks that add up to great success, so stay focused on the prize. Have a great weekend! - Afiniki.co.uk
