Fabulous
I listen to a LOT of podcasts. This podcast is the absolute best combination of reporting and storytelling I’ve ever heard. But it is more than that because it challenged me to think about - without being preachy - what it means to be a moral/ethical/good person, how complex an individual can be, and the impact we can haveaa on the lives of others.

Worth every second of listening
A tragic story of a man that even all his horrible crimes at base was good man, who made some bad decisions in his lifetime. I couldn't stop listening to this podcast. Amazing Job!!

Excellent and entertaining
This is a great story and while much of it is tragic, it is heartwarming too. Stoney’s story is fascinating and it is impossible not to binge.

Awesome story!
I lived as a child in Winder from 1965 - 1969. Blown away by the story and the mention of familiar landmarks and towns close by. My dad was transferred to Carwood Manufacturing there. Thought for a minute it was the sight of the distillery but, it was a different clothing company. This is the best podcast I have ever listened to.

Hooked from the beginning
This story kept me glued to my phone and I’m not one of those people. This story is so full of raw emotion and truth that it won’t let you go. The honesty in Stoney’s words mixed with the pureness of the love he held and continues to hold for his father is so fresh yet so jarringly painful at times that it is hard to fathom the reality of such a tale. I was blown away and won’t soon forget this man’s story and beautiful southern flavored words. I will listen again.

Things you didn't know happened...
I started listening to this podcast because my best friend, who was adopted as a baby, found out that the Birt's are part of her bio family. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop. Stoney is a great story-teller! He made me laugh, and I won't say how many times he caused me to tear up. And now, I feel like he is part of my family too.

Excellent
I randomly found this podcast and could not stop listening. I love Stoney and adore the love he had for his father. He's an amazing storyteller.
