Better than so many books

I loved this episode.

Because I need at least 15 words to submit this review, I'll add I'm going to be a better brother and person because of it.

Love sister

I have carried so much shame around any conversation that centers around the patriarchy and household responsibilities. I tend to feel guilty because I do have help and I struggle to understand my ongoing issues, considering my husband does take on a considerable part of our load as it pertains to parenting and household work. This conversation showed me how there a clear delineation persists; as he feels so much pride because he is so far exceeding the expectations, while I constantly feel a sense of failure rather than relief. I can see now that there is an internalized belief about what success looks like as a woman, and a lack of communication on how to share the labor in a way that feels less like someone taking up your slack, and more about partners making an intentional plan together.

Best Episode Yet

Just loved listening to this one. So so much of it spoke to me, even though I have a partner who does hold some of the tickers (housework, groceries, meals, yard work). Thank you for the conversion, laughs, ideas, and motivation to do better.

Great topic…

This one really hit home for me. I feel like it’s now OK - to say “hey-I am overwhelmed”.
I really need to take the time to release some things, and give up control and let go.
Thank you for talking about hard things!
