It reminds me of Brandon Samderson's work. Very well written and the first book leaves me wanting me immediately wanting to start the second. I highly recommend it if you like fantasy coming of age style stories with magic and heroism.

I absolutely loved the idea of this story. I'm currently on the second book but I have a few small issues with it.
The constant references they make of modern day super heroes, and all of the 80's movie references is a bit much.
The story is supposed to be years in the future, yet they keep jumping back to 1980?
It honestly makes the it feel like they're filling in spaces that they could have used for more story.
Other than that like I said the story is pretty interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from where I am.

Little bit of dystopian landscape+little bit of sci-fi+little bit of magic+little bit of war and a little bit of great tv/movie references = an awesome freaking book and great listen!

You can never find a very good book but this one took the cake ... I hope that the
Series never end. A good book of all ages. We need a woman superhero to give us a little bit of hope. I give this book 10 out of 10
