Acerca de esta escucha

Includes a bonus audio short story, “The Awakening,” a prelude.

Over the past two decades, Nick Horrigan has built a quiet, safe life for himself, living as much under the radar as possible. But all of that shatters when, in the middle of the night, a SWAT team bursts into his apartment, grabs him and drags him to a waiting helicopter. A terrorist - someone Nick has never heard of - has seized control of a nuclear reactor, threatening to blow it up. And the only person he’ll talk to is Nick, promising to tell Nick the truth behind the events that shattered his life twenty years ago.

At seventeen years old, Nick Horrigan made a deadly mistake - one that cost his stepfather his life, endangered his mother, and sent him into hiding for years. Now, what Nick discovers in that nuclear plant leaves him with only two choices - to start running again, or to fight and finally uncover the secrets that have held him hostage all these years.

As Nick peels back layer after layer of lies and deception, buffeted between the buried horrors of the past and the deadly intrigues of the present, he finds his own life - and the lives of nearly everyone he loves - at risk. And the only thing guiding him through this deadly labyrinth are his stepfather’s dying words: TRUST NO ONE.

Acclaimed for years by both critics and his peers as one of the finest thriller writers today, Gregg Hurwitz has lived up to all the accolades and expectations with Trust No One, an electrifying and compelling novel that will be remembered for years to come.

l had this on my wish list. Love you Hurwitz! And Brick helps you rock! But athletes and actors are doing this stuff enough. We know right from wrong. Can't we just enjoy your writing?

Unique, interesting, but socially preachy

Once again Greg has created a riveting story with fast paced action , continuous twists and turns and interesting believable characters!! It’s also a touching, very human story that touches the emotions and tender spots around all relationships and the attachments and emotional bonds we share. Well done, and conducted like a maestro would an intense complicated emotionally charged symphony. Bravo!

Great performance and story

This one bogged me down with how the hero of the story was such an introspective wimp. When I read a book, I want the man to be strong and not so introspective of everything he does. (This is just how I look at people)

Kept your interest

Well-paced with unique and memorable characters. Intriguing plot and cohesive storyline. Regaled my half-concious brain overnight.

A thoroughly enjoyable listen, even at bedtime.

I could seriously listen to Scott Brick read me the phonebook if there was still a phone book to be read!

Loved it!

Good narration but I just didn’t get engaged in the story. Generally like the author though

Never really got into it

This book is fast paced with lots of twists and turn! It kept me on the edge of my seat.

This book is great, loved it and want more.

This is one of Greg Hurwitz’s earlier novels though he had written several before this one. Still this book has the feel of an early book - you can sense the story telling skill of the author, but the pacing seems a bit scrambled. This story begins with Nick, the protagonist, being targeted by forces he isn’t quite sure about and who seem to be connected to an incident from when he was a teenager. He finally decides to find out what’s going on with the help of a former girlfriend and a homeless street guy friend. In standard Hurwitz fashion, Nick finds out he is up against some powerful people. There is a lot of suspense and great action, but the plotting and story development seemed a bit scrambled and haphazard for this genre. When returning to the book to continue reading, I had to review the plot and sometimes I would forget some of the more obscure storylines. Still, this was a fun book to read, and I liked the climax.

Good mystery but seemed a bit scrambled

I did not like how much the volume changed through out the recording it could have been corrected before releasing it

Main character

I love the Orphan X series so I just assumed this book would draw me in like Hurwitz’s other novels. But I found my mind wandering on more than one occasion. It just didn’t hold my attention. A little disappointed.

Ehhh
