The death of his wife four years earlier left Travis Bennett a shell of the man he used to be. With his dog by his side, Travis raises his three children, manages his business, and works as a ranch hand. But every day, every minute, is an aching emptiness.
Wesley Ryan has fond memories of the small Ozark town of El Dorado Springs. Seeing it as a safe place to put his failed relationships behind him, Wesley moves into his grandparents' old home and takes over the local veterinary clinic. An early morning visit from Travis and his dog stirs feelings that Wesley seeks to push away - the last thing he needs is to fall for a man with baggage and three kids as part of the package.
Life, it seems, has other plans.

Would you listen to Then the Stars Fall again? Why?
Yes. I enjoyed the story. It was believable, entertaining & I was rooting for the good guys.Who was your favorite character and why?
Although crusty old Travis was a favorite, I think the Vet was my real favorite character in the book.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions but I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I'm not normally a romance reader - I prefer Thrillers, Murders & Mysteries - I do wander off to other things that catch my attention, though. This was a nice break from all the usual mayhem, like a visit to a small town to catch your breath after a long week in the city. And, er, well, ahem, blush, I will admit to brushing away a tear or two - especially at the wedding. Not Just Another Romance

Different than the Synopsis

In this story, I also liked the low-level humor, especially from the young twins. And I liked how the author dealt with the realities of sexual prejudice found in many communities, especially small ones and internalized sexual prejudice too. It’s not preachy or judgmental and not too easy. Plus, the characters are great. It’s also not a story where sex is the center, nor is the small bit of sex explicit at all. Instead, sexual intercourse is alluded to, and some touching is told about but not described. Several of the characters use the f-word to talk about the sex act as well. The cherry on top was the wonderful job the narrator did with all of the characters.

What made the experience of listening to Then the Stars Fall the most enjoyable?
The way Brandon lets us into the lives of these people - great narration, great emotion. What did you like best about this story?
As I said, this rare, non-gratuitous look into these people's lives. I loved that Brandon showed us their close, detailed relationship (including the Sex). I LOVED that Brandon shows it's not all black and white, and that love has many forms - there are bisexuals, there are people who love men AND women - and it is not false, it is True, enduring love - I believe Shannon, Travis and Wesley might have loved each other here on earth, and I believe that they do - I believe in Jesus and God with all my heart and believe were these true individuals, that Shannon would be smiling down on Travis and Wesley and sharing in their love from Heaven. I believe Wesley, truly Loving Travis loved Shannon through Travis and recognized that what Shannon loved about Travis he (Wesley) loved about Travis. This story was Beautiful.Have you listened to any of Andrew McFerrin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this was excellent, look forward to hearing from him again!Who was the most memorable character of Then the Stars Fall and why?
Travis, he knew Shannon was It for him and sacrificed and remained true heart and soul to her - he was an amazing beautiful Man in every sense of the word. Also, when he met Wesley, he finally gave in to what Shannon would have wanted for him, LOVE and for him to flourish and be the most he could be for their kids - He was a true man, partner and father and Loved with all his Heart and his loyalty and courage was unfailing.Any additional comments?
I appreciate this type of love story that rings true, that shows that there is more than one kind of Love that is true and enduring. I was disappointed that the ending was so abrupt frankly, even with the epilogue and would like to hear more about Travis, Wesley & Co. I like that it was sexy, and yet this was not the only focus of the story. I think the stories that lack that are missing a vital piece - as it is a natural part of life and their connection. I want to see more stories of bisexual, gay and possibly other committed life partnerships (like Maya Banks Colters) and that is what resonates with me. I am a heterosexual but realize that these people exist and are forced to exist in the shadows. Commitment, real commitment and not sleeping with every stranger and seedy side of life is sad. These true, faithful and good committed relationships are healthy and something to celebrate. I think God is Love - and while the gay or bisexual life style is not for me, I realize there are those who feel born to it. It is up to our Lord to judge, not up to us, Jesus is Love and it is not for us as Christians to interpret or Judge what is in the Mind of God - He alone knows. I believe He Loves His Children in All Forms. For me, true Love like Travis and Shannon and then Travis and Wesley, this is beautiful, true, committed and enduring Love and for me, that is what we should Celebrate. Personally, I feel they all will celebrate fully their Love and Lives together someday in Heaven. What a marvelous Gift! Thanks Brandon (I look forward to more (and a bonus Novella on Travis and Wesley (please!!!)!Beautiful 10 Stars

What did you like best about Then the Stars Fall? What did you like least?
I wish when you scanned over the book and it tells you a brief something about the book... Maybe it should add that this is a love story/drama between two men. Book was ok, but i would have skipped this book if I had known. I have no problem with it personally, but I'm not much into reading this type of book.Would you be willing to try another book from Brandon Witt? Why or why not?
I think not.Did Andrew McFerrin do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I hated how he did women's voices!Could you see Then the Stars Fall being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I hope not.Ummmm.... Hmmm...
