Spade. People know what to expect when they hear my last name.

Billionaire. Alphahole. The forever bachelor. Heir to Spade Hotels, one of the most luxurious brands in the world.

Want to know what they would never call me?

Boyfriend.

Until her.

With one glance at her in the club, I’m ready to claim her for the night.

Dark, flowing hair. A smile that causes my heart to pound. Eyes that pierce my soul. And a perfect body that makes every part of me pulse.

She’s addictive. Electrifying. Consuming.

I’ve never wanted anyone more.

Our eyes meet, but she looks right past me. She isn’t here for me. She’s here for the music.

For the first time in my life, a woman makes me work for it. Her indifference fuels the fire inside me.

The result? One night. No names. No introductions.

Just pleasure. The way I’ve always liked it.

But now, I find myself fantasizing about this gorgeous stranger, and I swear I can still feel the softness of her skin and taste her on my lips.

The minute I saw her, a switch flipped inside me. Now, how do I stop this raging…obsession?

When our paths cross again in the most unexpected way, I’m on a mission to make her mine. But what happens when she wants nothing to do with me?

The spicy scenes but the chemistry between Macon and Brooklyn is something special

While I’ve enjoyed Marni Mann’s books, the performance on this one still has me scratching my head. The storyline was pretty good, but the male narrator’s speech pattern still has me puzzled. The way that the end of his words were clipped was so distracting that it impeded my enjoyment of the story. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before and couldn’t determine if it was just his speech pattern or mechanical. Suffice it to say that I didn’t enjoy it.

Uhm…Well

I listen to a LOT of audiobooks, mostly new romance. I was coming off a high of listening to Butcher & Blackbird, which was sooo good, and this book was also recommended for me by Audible so I thought I’d give this author and book a try. This story was super formulaic, nothing original, no heart and it felt like the author just phoned it in, and I kept finding myself spacing out and really bored. I just wanted to get to the predictable and unrealistic end. It could’ve been me just coming out of a good book and this one not measuring up at all. The very worst part was the male narrator making the 27 year old hero sound like a super creepy 65 year old lech. It made me feel icky and it was not romantic to hear that voice diddle with the 22 year old heroine. Yuck. I’d pass on this one.

Unoriginal, Boring and the Male narrator made my skin crawl

I like how the script was flipped.🤪 How you can do easily get played. Love the Heat 🔥 There wasn't much Suspense or Drama But it is a good Story. Great Narration ✨
Enjoy 😊

Undercover Lover❤️🔥

I tried! The back-and-forth, the holding back on information—I couldn't take it anymore. I got to Chapter 18 and gave up the Ghost. The Narration was spot on. The story started off fast, then crept along with indecision and indecisiveness. Clearly, others did not agree. See for yourself, it just might be your cup of tea.

Too Boring DNF

I struggled to connect with Macon in The Playboy—partly because the narration made Brooklyn sound far too young, which made the dynamic feel off and at times, borderline creepy. The “big fight” after he finds out what she does for a living felt forced and immature. Honestly, he should’ve been impressed, not judgmental. And the fact that he waited so long to tell her his secret afterward felt juvenile. Overall, it had its moments, but it didn’t fully land for me

Hard to connect with the hero

The Playboy is the first book in The Spade Hotel Series and what an amazing start to the series.
Marni does not disappoint with Macon and Brooklyn’s story. She’s brings the heat and the romance.
Macon works hard but plays harder. He’s so HAWT. His actions, his words and that mouth of his. Oh, lord. He’s a swoon-worthy dominant alpha, who gets his world rocked by Brooklyn. Just when he thinks his charming ways will do, she shows him he has to work for it. He completely does a 180 for her. He falls first, and is completely consumed by his attraction for her and I’m here for it. She’s the perfect match for him. She’s smart, sassy, she challenges him, and keeps him on his toes. She’s the male version of him to some extent but still are opposites. They have some walls to break down, some hurdles to get through and some secrets holding them back. They handled all those issues with a great level of maturity at the end. The story is full of banter, it’s fun, sexy, flirty, electrifying and has an all consuming chemistry. Loved getting the Dalton’s back in the story. Always great catching up with them. Loved these two! I can’t wait to read Cooper’s story next. The audio narration is dual POV by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom. They brought another dimension to the story with their characterizations. They kept me engaged, and I listened to the audiobook multiple times. It was such a good listen.
