Acerca de esta escucha

Why are women more verbal than men? Why do women remember details of fights that men can't remember at all? Why do women tend to form deeper bonds with their female friends than men do with their male counterparts? These and other questions have stumped both sexes throughout the ages.

Now, pioneering neuropsychiatrist Louann Brizendine, M.D., brings together the latest findings to show how the unique structure of the female brain determines how women think, what they value, how they communicate, and who they love.

While doing research as a medical student at Yale, and then as a resident and faculty member at Harvard, Louann Brizendine discovered that almost all of the clinical data in existence on neurology, psychology, and neurobiology focused exclusively on males. In response to the overwhelming need for information on the female mind, Brizendine established the first clinic in the country to study and treat women's brain function.

In The Female Brain, Dr. Brizendine distills all of her findings and the latest information from the scientific community in a highly accessible book that educates women about their unique brain/body/behavior.

The result: women will come away from this audiobook knowing that they have a lean, mean, communicating machine. Men will develop a serious case of brain envy.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"[The book] offers a trove of information, as well as some stunning insights. Though referenced like a work of research, Brizedine's writing style is fully accessible....While this book will be of interest to anyone who wonders why men and women are so different, it will be particularly useful for women and parents of girls." I've always found the unisex movement in its different forms, to be quite silly and uneducated. This book cleared up some facts that I didn't know about the female brain. So I'm glad that Louann kept it scientific and didn't go the "politically correct" way.
Easy book to follow along, and some great examples from her patients and herself, so that you can understand and not get bored with fancy "clinical words" .
I probably appreciate this because English is not my first language, so my vocabulary can be improved on.
I clearly recommend this book! Give it a try :)

The use of factual data does not mean that you are not being politically correct. Widen the frame of reference beyond simple facts and you'll see that the underlying story you weave is all about political correctness. you present justifications for incoherent and unreasonable behavior in women and frame men and children as expendible casualties in the war to get women whatever they want whenever they want, based on their hormonal imbalances. if I were not already married I would probably run away as fast as I could from marriage after listening to this.

Not politically correct, huh?

Struggled through a few chapters. Hard to believe the differences between males and females. Thanks.

Kinda boring.

The author does an excellent job providing medical and scientific information on a readable level. Published in 2007, the book needs updated information on hormonal therapies, race and hormones, and a chapter on transgender brains. As others have mentioned, the author uses her bedtime story voice but it does get better as the book goes on, notably absent in the epilogue.

Excellent book, needs updating and a re-record

It was like someone described my while life - even the parts that haven't happened yet but I've seen my mother go through.

It's so healing and unnerving to hear that such big parts of my personality are so much of a common experience for females.

I think every human should have the information in this book - one way or another!

Dont hesitate - this book will change your life!

Incredible

This is such an impressive book. My only complaint is I wish I found it sooner.

Feminism and Marxism preached that there was no such thing as human nature or difference in the genders outside of what the environment determined. Recent brain science has proven that to be incorrect. Brizendine's book is a thorough and scientific explanation of how hormones and brain structures incline a human to have those wonderful and sometimes confounding traits we call "feminine."
