Offered a short-term contract, he lands on the Hebridean island of Harris to investigate obscure animal bones. Quickly dismissing the unicorn skull as a thinly disguised fake, he can’t deny there’s something unusual about these bones. Baited by rumors of a majestic tusked horse roaming the uplands, Gill begins to suspect someone is manipulating him. As he gradually unravels the mystery of the skull, he grasps one disturbing conclusion. If this creature does exist, the evidence suggests it’s a killer.

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator is very good and the story is quite interesting. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I'll just say that it's definitely worth a credit. I'd be happy to read other books in this series!

I have read all of the Mysterious Scotland books and thoroughly enjoyed them. I love the locations, of course, but the storytelling, the fresh ideas about ancient artifacts, and the characters I care about immerse me in the novels. I’ve been fortunate to have visited Scotland, and how the settings are described takes me back. The audible version has added more local flavor, emotional inflection, and correct pronunciation for places and names that I have been getting wrong from my reading (thanks for that). The voice actor’s accent is perfection!

pretty good story but am still a bit confused about the Biker Guy. Archangel Rafael was the only thing that made sense. Interesting concept of bringing back the mythic figures for Armageddon.

I looked at this book several times before I bought it. I have now bought all three that are audio books. I love them.

I loved the location, narrator, premise, and the mystery. So fun to read ! It definitely makes me want to explore Scotland, especially the Hebrides

Will admit this book wasn’t my usual choice in reading but keep reading the summary and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did, enjoyed the story so much I’ve already downloaded the next three in the series. The narrator is wonderful too and that’s very important to me in an audible version.
