The Whitaker family's Connecticut mansion, Muses by the Sea, has always been a haven for artists, a hotbed of creativity, extravagances, and the occasional scandal. Art patrons for generations, the Whitakers supported strangers but drained the life out of each other. Issy, Jillian's daughter, has a successful life as a museum exhibit designer that takes her around the world. But the Muses and her grandmother are the only family she's known, and when her sister leaves her own children with Leo, Issy knows she has to step in to help. Steph is only 12 years old and desperately needs someone to fire her imagination and bring her out of her shell. What she begins to discover at the Muses could change the course of her future.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. It was a suggestion that I picked on a whim. It was a sweet story that really pulls at the heartstrings, with sweet blossoming romances, family drama, and reconciliations. Highly recommend for a love and lovely listen!

The story line and characters quickly suck you into the book. Reader did a great job at voicing different characters. I really loved this book

Loved it! I loved the family dynamics and emotions in this story. I laughed and cried in the same chapter. The narrator made me feel every emotion and the author painted beautiful scenes.

Not what you expect a story to be when titled The Beach....at time the story line and characters were confusing and a very slow start. I am glad i stuck with it to the end. The story made me laugh and cry.

Some of the characters did not get tied up well at the end. It was just an ok read. The setting and described scenery were interesting. Hi hum about reading another from this author

Okay for mindless reading. A good edit sorely needed. Redundant throughout. Give a reader some credit for being able to retain the simplest of story line!

It was a wonderful book to listen to. Okay the ending was predictable but the women in the book were fascinating and the description of the house... a good listen!

Very enjoyable

In this time of COVID, I needed an escape, but cringed at the thought of one more beach read about an old flame moving back home and having tons of amazing out of the world sex with an old flame 50 years later. I am so glad this was not the case with this book! Layers of love and real life and a bit of fantasy and predictability will make you never want it it end. Worth even 2 credits! Now, I have to go and search for my next read by this author.

I want to live in this world forever

Some characters were a little too "slow" to be real. Story was a little repetitive. Sure was an awful lot of alcohol consumed.
