Cursed, mated, and in for the fight of their lives....

Warlock Nate Hawthorne just wants a cup of coffee. Is that too much to ask? Apparently. Because instead of precious caffeine, all he gets is cursed by a pack of werewolves who want to use him for his magic. Now the only way to fix the damage is a mate bond to a grumpy and oh-so-sexy alpha in the rival pack, who happens to hate him. This is so not how he wanted to start his day.

Ian Armitage never intended to take Nate as his mate. The Hawthorne family can't be trusted. Ian knows that better than anyone. The fact that he's lusted after the way-too-gorgeous man for years? Totally irrelevant. Ian's just doing what is necessary to protect his pack. This whole mating arrangement has nothing to do with love and never will. That's his story and he's sticking to it.

Nate and Ian will have to work together if they have any hope of staving off the pack's enemies and averting disaster. That's assuming they can stop arguing (and keep their hands off each other) long enough to save the day....

All I can think about is a younger version of Ian intensely starring at younger Nate, then Nate muttering to himself “Wtf.” Nate doesn’t say this in the book but I say he does lol Great characters 10/10

I was in the mood for paranormal m/m romance (ok, if I’m honest, I’m ALWAYS in the mood for this genre!) and I came across this little book, which seemed too good to be true! It sat in my wishlist for awhile, and I decided to roll the dice and give it a credit! I’m glad I did, because once I started listening, it turned out to check almost all of my boxes: no insta-love, no horrendous narration, no crappy writing, and no avoidance of hot gay sex scenes! (Well, the sex scenes could have been more detailed and more plentiful, but they were firmly in the “ok, im feeling this; lady bits are standing by at attention” category). It was slightly annoying that the (low-level) angst/conflict between the two MC’s seemed a bit forced, at times, but that was not a significant problem, for me, anyway. Overall, a great read if you like, hot smexy times, werewolves, vampires, magic, VERY DECENT WRITING, good plot-building and you aren’t insistent on having TONS of world-building (it was enough for this story, imho.I would give this one 4.5 snarky-meets-studly stars! Just goes to show that if you scour Goodreads and Audible, there are still some hidden gems out there! Now, I’m off to go spend another credit on the second installment! Hope you enjoy!!

Hot with tension from beginning to the end. Love really is a wild - and many times - dangerous roller coaster. I’m all for it😏

I really loved this book. I loved the action sequence, the suspense in between the action in the beginning of the book, and then just the moments with Ian and Nate together. It was so romantic and sensual and it kind of drove me crazy. And and Chris Chambers is an amazing narrator. he has great range when he changes his voices for characters and he knows just when and how to make you feel suspense, excited, aroused, and just hooked on this book.

Nate is funny, sarcastic and a bit of a selfish idiot. Anyone with half a brain and eyes could see how Ian felt. Ian showed time and again that he was a smart, protective, possessive and loving Alpha. He did little things that Nate missed or mistook for the bond, but Ian did them anyway without a lot of thanks or appreciation. The main one, saving Nate’s life. The two together were cute though, their banter was funny. And as much as Nate might have missed somethings, Ian could have gone about things differently. Lots of misunderstanding each other. But they get to their HEA. The two have to fight for each other and the pack against evil forces. The narrator does a fantastic job giving life to the snarky Nate and grumpy Ian. The writing was fantastic.

Can't say much more than that. I love Eliot Grayson's books and I'm obsessed with Chris Chambers' voice. Such a smooth tone and he does different voices so well. I really love how he acts with his voice, it's so good. I had started listening to another audiobook with Chris and another narrator who I do actually really like, but I realized I was trying to hurry through the other narrator's parts so I could get back to Chris so I thought I'd just start this series again lol.
