I loved everything about this story. From the down on your luck, Fenn, but with an attitude of never giving up. To a sorcerer that has lost his magic. I enjoyed that both these ppl are over 40 and have enough world experience to share. The base of the story itself is as old as time, politics, family drama, and the author does a good job keeping it relevant without overwhelming us getting to know the two MC's.
Joel Leslie has done another amazing job with all the voices and kept me entertained throughout

I might get through it, seems like it might be a good story. I like Joel Leslie in general but don't understand the directorial/artistic choice of the fake accent of the main narration. It's jarring and makes it hard to actually enjoy.

I feel like the book title should have had something with the word "horse" in it considering just how much the book has to do with horses. I feel like this is the book you give to someone before you give them a book featuring horse play.

If you don't like horses, this book isn't for you.

When I audio-read from a new author, I never know what to expect, but as you'd imagine, they're mostly middling. This novel is refreshingly sweet and also has depth in characters and plot.

I really like how this one had older characters that we never see. The story was so good and really spicy i enjoyed it so much.

This book took a bit to draw me in, but I am SO GLAD I stuck with it. The narration is fantastic. The story is quirky, endearing, a little bit dirty, and a lot of fun. Lee Welch is officially on my “buy everything they publish” list.

What can I say? I loved this book! It was so well written with wonderful, distinctive characters, great adventure and magic, and on top of it all, was highly whimsical and amusing. This one is a true original. On top of the great writing, the narration is top notch! Excellent listen!

I LOVED this story. As someone who loves horses and BL, this was right up my alley! I loved all the proper names and things for the horses and I will saw the horse was my favorite thing ever! I literally laughed out loud so much because of that little thing being silly! My husband looked at me a little funny sometimes because of my laughs. lol! This was amazing, and of course Joel did another amazing job!

I was constantly smiling or actually laughing out loud at this audiobook. I even cried a couple of time. the story is sweet and lightly angsty. You can really feel the emotions of the characters. Joel Leslie gives an amazing performance as always. I love Lee Welch's books. I can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed this story. According to the authors website, writing these books are challenging. I hope that the author writes more books in three future. She is very talented and creative. I recommend this book.
