Brigid Donovan is down on her luck. Her husband dumped her for the biggest stereotype around, his secretary, and her family mansion is a decaying wreck. All she wants is to get it restored, enjoy the peace and quiet of living in eight hundred acres of primordial forest, and rebuild her life.

Things aren't as picture perfect as they seem in her hometown of Kilchis, Oregon. In fact, they haven't been for a long time. For one thing, her restoration team is a pack of werewolves, and her new bestie is a witch. What's going on? Brigid has to find out fast or she could lose it all—her mind, her magic, and her life.

I love this! I just love going along with the character as they figure out their powers. This one does exactly that! This is full of wonderful characters as well as some great paranormals. I just enjoyed every second of this story.

I listened to this on audio. Veronica Giguere does an amazing job. She is new to me and I enjoyed her vocals. I look forward to more!

This is the first book in the Splintered Magic Series, a Paranormal Women's Urban Fantasy Fiction Novel. This is a great introduction to the series. The characters are well developed. I loved Brigid, Gabe, and Mr. Mittens (the cat). The plot is captivating. The storyline is intriguing, entertaining, and fast-paced, filled with humor, intrigue and twists and turns. The world building is interesting. Veronica Giguere did a great job bringing this story to life. The story ends with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listening to Splintered Veil, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio

This is one of the best paranormal women’s fiction books that I’ve ever read, and it’s perfectly narrated in every way. The narrator Veronica Giguere is so amazing at male voices that I could have sworn it was a duet narration. This is Book 1 of a series with a continuing storyline and one heroine name Brigid. The plot is similar to urban fantasy but with the newly divorced 42-year-old Brigid figuring out her new magic. So far the steam level is very mild with just kissing.
Brigid is relatable and lovable, and so is her cool telepathic cat! The setting at an old Victorian mansion in Oregon is beautiful and atmospheric. I love the mysteries, the action, and the intriguing minor characters. This author is wonderful at world-building, and I can’t wait to start the next book in this awesome new series. I totally recommend this book to all fans of paranormal women’s fiction and paranormal cozy mysteries.

Are you for reals. You just had to end the story like, do you know how mean that is. know I have to wait for the next book. So not cool, I need to know what happens next, I have to know more. you totally suck me into this new world 🌎 of magic and I loved every bit of it, and the narrator did such an amazing job too. you guys are going to love this book, well I know I did 😊.

This is the first book in the Splintered Magic series. This was a great start to this series. I am very interested to see what Brigid and Mr. Mittens will do next. Veronica Giguere did a great job narrating this book.

Brigid is starting over. After her husband left her for his secretary and tried to cheat her out of their business, she moved home to her family estate. She plans to restore the mansion and start a new business. Her fresh start doesn’t include her cat talking to her or her construction crew being a wolf-shifter family. She especially doesn’t plan on being told she is the granddaughter of a fae lord and has potent magic that the local witches are trying to steal. But this is her new life and if she wants to keep it, she needs to find her magic fast.

This so easily could have been a 4-star read, instead it's a 3.5. Evil witches, a wolf shifter family, powerful forgotten fae, and assorted other magical creatures make a great cast of characters. Mr. Mittens steals the show. The premise is solid. But it lacked character development and the main character needed more consistency. With a few tweaks, it could have been terrific. The characters are all one-dimensional. They need more backstory, personality, and depth. Details are important! Brigid is the bigger issue. The woman started up a successful business and is considerably wealthy due to it, so we have to assume she is intelligent. Instead of being told this, I would like her actions to prove it. She’s told witches are after her magic, so she immediately places her trust in two, even though it was clear from the beginning who the ‘bad guy’ was. Keeping your friends close and enemies closer does not mean inviting them into your house and giving them full access to find what they need to steal your power. She is told not to go out without her protector cat, so ,of course, she does. Once she figures out who the bad guy is, she immediately loses any upper hand she might have gained by confronting them and letting them know what she thinks with no plan. Then the big confrontation takes place with no resolution, and the book ends. I get cliffhangers; I love cliffhangers. This is not one. This is the middle of a scene ending. Not how it’s done. A cliffhanger should make you eager for the next book, not irritate you.

Veronica Giguere narrated. She does a great job covering the cast of males and females. I was impressed with her versatility and range.

This story was so fun to listen to. I can't wait to hear what happens next. There is just the right amount of people in it. I love Mr Mittens. I hope to hear more about Brightfeather and maybe some more forest friends in the next one! #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam
