This such a wonderful book to listen to! Shayne did an amazing job telling this story! I can't wait to find out what happens next to Charlotte, Valek, and the rest of their little family! This will be a continuous favorite of mine for years to come!!

Amazingly Written

I really enjoyed Joel Froomkin's narration and the variety of voices he used for this audiobook were great. However, Charlotte's dialogue was a bit too childish for the 18 - 19 year old she was supposed to be. It took a while for me to dive into the book because listening to the first few minutes reminded me too much of a Bela Lugosi Dracula. After a few more minutes in though, I was hooked!

The story had so many different "scenes", and I was surprised it fit in one book. The ending started to get a bit cheesy, but overall, I thought this was a very entertaining listen.

Shayne brought me to a place where I didn't want to escape. Wonderful landscaping, exceptional characters, all unique and intriguing. Magical, scary and yet heart warming, adventurous, exciting and much more. The main characters are very well written and I'm definately team Charlotte! You must read this, it was worth every moment! looking forward to part 2 & a movie of course!

This is an amazing story. The love between Charlotte and Valek is truly amazing and heartwarming. brilliantly and beautifully written.

Absolutely Outstanding

Interesting story. Easy to follow. Fantastically done. A vampire raises a human girl. He undergoes the trials and tribulations of temptation, society and the unknown. They live on the edge of not getting caught together which is forbidden.

The narration is phenomenal! The differentiation between the characters is amazing. Joel Froomkin's voice is clear, with excellent diction and spot on pronunciation.

The only issue I had with this audiobook was the sound effects. I found them distracting and unnecessary. With such polished, fantastic narration, why would there be sound effects????

Forbidden Love

I was skeptical at first. the story has a slow old time start (think Dracula) But it picks up with blood love and a dangerous triangle. Though there is artfully written sexual tension, thankfully there is no sex. The fight scenes are well written and exciting. My only real problem is it end abruptly.

while the story is not everyone’s cup of tea the performance is what you’d expect an audiobook to be, not simply someone narrating the story but when they talk next to a “crackling fire” there is a crackling fire in the background noise it was lovely, a real experience to listen to. I hope the next book is narrated the same.

I absolutely LOVED IT! Shayne has done a fantastic job and it feels like I'm there the entire journey!! It makes you want to travel to Prague and feel the magic there. This is by far the best vampire series I have ever owned since I did not like the ending of the Twilight series. Shayne has redemmed the world of the vampires and this is one I truly recommend to read!!

That was a wonderful and fantastic adventure. Shayne had created this wonderful universe. and light and Darkness. and love. and the voice of Joel Froomkin was fantastic.
