I’m a huge fan of T.A. White, so far I have liked all her books and she is an instant download for me. Her stories are full of adventure, a heroine who is actually tough, friendship, mystery, romance, magic, and so much more. Her stories are the type that make me stay up late because I just want to know what happens next. Narrator is great, my only complaint is her version of Night as she gave him a high pitched voice, when I picture him with a gravelly/growly type voice.

I am greatly enjoying this series and author. So far all his/her books I have read are very good.

Positives include:

The plot is very well developed and interesting. It is Not just a rehash of the typical sci/fi fantasy plots that I find often repeat themselves in this genre.

Who doesn’t love dragons … I mean really!

The narrator does an excellent job and is an easy voice to listen to.

So far there-have not been any “R” rated sex scenes … which is a large positive for me. I don’t enjoy those in my Sci/if Fantasy books . To me they are just wasted filler. They also make it so I can not enjoy the book listening aloud without worrying whom else in my family might be within hearing.

This book is also missing another typical “wasted space” filler which is endless descriptions of battles that go on and on. Yes there are conflicts and trials and battles … like you would expect from sci/fi BUT they are described well without droning on and on. Again, a pet peeve of mine since that again seems to be a way to write more pages without really adding to the plot.

In summary, I highly recommend this audiobook as well as the series.

The world building and development of the characters makes this an engaging story. Finish it in two days.

As always T.A. White is the master of stories and this one does not lack anything again…. She gives secrets and spies but also a heroine who has a lost past. Thus even if we don’t know her past she blends together a past, and presence and soon to be a new future. That all come together to bring a unique story not ever written before and yet is so enthralling and so entertaining. Once you get hooked you can’t wait for the next book to be written. Just to see how this story ends and then go back to reread the books to see what you missed in all the clues! Thank you for such an epic adventure!
