Acerca de esta escucha

Picture this: You pack your bags. Move to Paris. Fall in love. A dream, right?

Wrong. Especially when you find out your Mr. Right is actually married. With kids. Don't even mention the white picket fence.

Heartbroken in the City of Love, the last person Elizabeth Hastings expects to lend her a shoulder to cry on is her brother's best friend...

Spencer Tate is opening up his first gym in London when a frantic call sends him to Paris to check on his best friend Sebastian's baby sister.

If he's lucky, he can stop in for a minute and be back in London the next day. Easy peasy. Except the dorky bookworm he remembers is now all grown up, with dangerous curves, lips just made for kissing, and eyes he could get lost in...

Spencer. Is. Screwed.

Contains mature themes.

I used this credit because I love Nelson Hobbs as a reader. He made the story so much better and this one just what I expected. He did not disappoint me, Madeleine was new to me and so was the author. I will look for more of their work. The story was not unique or different but good romance story nevertheless. If you a romance lover, I highly recommend!

The story was pretty good, but this female lead was an insecure, gullible, selfish and immature woman for someone already in her 20’s she behaves like a teenager. Putting that aside, the male lead was a good character and very likable. I think he deserves better than her. At one point the book turned into a big turn off. I feel like many of these authors write terrible female leads. Women who are weak and pretty dumb. I would love to listen to one of these books where there is a female lead who is strong and with some life Intelligence.

Terrible female lead. Disappointed…

I have never wanted the Main Male Character to dump the Main Female Character and find someone who deserves him so bad. She is awful and her moral compass lacks. The scene of him making a meal for her and watching a video to see that he was setting the table right to make everything perfect for her while she was off considering being a homewrecker with a married man made me despise her.

The FMC was a spoiled princess with no depth! I hated her so much! I have never wanted the MMC to dump them and find someone better so bad. It was PAINFUL to listed to all of her rich girl problems! This book left me angry! I wanted to jump into the book and demand the MMC open his eyes and move on!
Side note the female narrator was way too robotic!

HATED THE FMC

Is it predictable? Sure! But at least, it's mostly entertaining. I will say once I got to the third act conflict... I was a little miffed. Lizzie's logic was dumb (you need closure? for what? the man made you the other woman), the conflict was so manufactured (Lizzie was being a child about this whole thing). For a whole second, I was like Spencer deserves better... at least, it's a HEA, but that portion was cringe to get through.

It was just fine...
