Annie: All I need to do is keep my head above water. Push a little harder. Keep that smile plastered on my face for my son as we try to wade through the new life that's threatening to drown us both. But my friendship with Annie opens my eyes to what it could be like to have something deeper. To feel something stronger.

Hi I’m a romance newbie. If you love novels by Colleen Hoover, I highly suggest this read. Colleen Hoover was my gateway author to romance novels which led me here. Loved this book and immediately went on to the second book Like You Want It. I wish there were more on audible but It looks like this author has many more novels you can order the books or on kindle. Jillian Liota has easily become one of my favorite authors already !

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! From cover to cover I was captivated and wrapped up in Annie's life and hoping for a HEA for her and her kids.

The drama was real, the emotions were high and the feelings were deep. This story about broken, shattered and very pregnant Annie and her determination to pick up the pieces of her life after the loss of her boyfriend just pulled on my heart strings and made me want her to succeed and find the happiness she deserved.

Sometimes all it takes is the kindness of a stranger to help you get back on your feet and survive another day. Sometimes that stranger happens to be your older, sexy, next-door neighbor!

The relationship that developed between Jones and Cole was so sweet and melted my heart! Cole was such a positive and strong role model for Annie's young son and proved to her that honest, goodhearted men do still exist.

The epilogue wrapped up the story so nicely and left me smiling and never wanting it to end!

Sofia Willingham did an incredible job of narrating Annie’s character. I wasn’t a fan of Mason Lloyd for Cole though. He just didn’t have the gruff, younger voice I envisioned for the character. But overall the narration was good.

The first single-parent book I’ve ever loved!

This is a really sweet love story. Lots of thinking about each other. There is a compelling back story for the MFC and a somewhat interesting internal dialogue for the MMC. But the magnetism between the two isn’t overwhelming. There is absolutely no spice with the single, rather tame, kiss having been left for the very last chapter. The female narrator is pleasing to listen to. The male narrator is appropriate for the story and does an adequate job. His voice is more matter of fact than romantically involved and, therefore, not my style. I wish I’d been more careful in reading the reviews bf starting this one.

If you are a Mason Lloyd and Sofia fan you will like this lighthearted love story. There's not a lot of angst but a very good down to earth story about 2 real people finding each other slowly and carefully. Some humor and an adorable little boy that made the book enjoyable. If you're looking for something light, with good characters and story development without all the drama and fuss then give this one a chance. But if you like lots of hotness and drama you might find this one a little slow. Personally I do like to mix things up and I was expecting a little more romance because of Mason but dude I love ya anyway. I listened to it straight thru. Not bad at all.

The whole book he kind of gas, lit his girlfriend and then dropped her once he came to the realization that he wanted to be with the person he told her not to worry about the whole time. he's kind of the villain and it's like yay. the single parent ends up with somebody but it's like why do you have to do it at the expense of another person? not cool man. not cool

if you really sit back and think about it, call the guy kind of sucks

I enjoyed listening to this story. However, I cannot give more than two stars for the story. Main characters took too long to get together as a couple. When I said took too long, I’m not even exaggerated. Thirty mins toward the end of the story, they sort of admitting their feelings and communicate about the h ex. So sad that I listened this far and gave up. The H was still with his girlfriend up to this point. This was part of my membership so I didn’t pay extra to listen. Thank goodness. If you like drama with no romance, this one is for you!

Soft spoiler, I can't stand that the MMC wastes most of the book stringing along his snotty girlfriend. It is definitely a slow burn. Otherwise, not terrible. The narration is pretty decent.

the story was sweet. The characters somewhat realistic. Reminded me of my romance with my late hubby and our blended family. Yes there are a few good men out there
