Dr. Scott Weaver, a snarky middle-aged dead man with a gift, hates his job. After committing suicide when one of his patients dies on the table, Scott wakes to find himself stuck in his own personal purgatory—where he can only leave if he works as a "Healer" to save all the poor citizens of the corrupt Blister City. But one night on the job, he is unable to heal an old friend. Filled with the guilt, Scott travels down a dark path filled with gritty strip clubs and rundown bars.
Doomed to remain stuck in his world forever, Scott is sent Malakai, a canine companion from above with just as much attitude as him. With his time in purgatory coming to an end, Malakai steers Scott is on the right path to gain redemption. But when Scott's powers fail him again, he battles with self doubt and wonders if he healed the wrong man.
He is soon faced with a devastating choice: make one last heal and redeem himself from his own personal hell, or commit the ultimate sin to condemn himself in order to save countless souls from a fate worse than death.

Healers
WOW this book is very well done. I am a big horror fan and this book was definitely in my ally. Great narrating and well written. Very easy storyline to follow. Definitely recommend this book for horror listeners.

This is a Great Story
This story is about a Dr. who cannot forgive himself, he is harder on himself then even the Big Guy is.There us humor, Steam, a talking Dog. Heck e everything you need to make a Great Book. Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Cool Story!
Such a cool story! It’s got life, death, second chances, and even a dog companion, which honestly, what more could you want? The story does an awesome job of pulling you into the journey, making you feel like you’re right there, figuring things outt alongside the characters. It’s got a mix of supernatural twists and real human struggles. Things like greed, friendship, redemption, the stuff that makes a story hit home. The narration is easy to follow, so it’s one of those books you can really sink into without getting lost. It's got all the good stuff, danger, romance, and again, the dog! Some of the characters feel a little familiar, but they work well for the story. The pacing can be a bit choppy in places, but honestly, it still pulls you in till the end.

Such a good read!
This book is really entertaining and it will keep you engaged throughout. The book has really good character development especially for the main character. If you feel like you’re stuck in life you’ll relate to this book

Captivating listen
This book is an easy to get into and grabs your attention in a way that makes you feel. It borders almost uncomfortable truths in parts and reminds you about the good in people too. I really enjoyed listening and was sad when it was over!

Solid audiobook
It’s weird, gritty, funny, and surprisingly emotional. The author is a hot mess of a character, but that’s what makes him so easy to root for. His journey through a broken afterlife, with a snarky talking dog in tow, feels like a dark comic book mixed with a redemption story. Some scenes get intense, and the pacing dips here and there, but the heart of the story—guilt, healing, and second chances—really sticks. Bonus points for the voice acting. A solid, offbeat ride.

Excellent story line
The book kept me hooked from start to finish! Only critique is not super fond of the voice acting. Mild trigger warning for child SA.

A page turner!
It’s a great story about finding your way through life (or death) and finding your ability to see the good and enjoy it while you can. It has fun supernatural elements and also a canine companion, what more can you want? Brooke does a great job of having you feeling like you’re also on this journey of rediscovering yourself and remembering there’s always second chances.

Intriguing Story Line
Healers is an intriguing novel that keeps you hooked as the story and characters develop. It contains the issues we deal with as humans, such as greed, shame, friendship, along with redemption. The narration was easy to listen to. Overall it's a great novel.

It's Not Too Late to Repent
Wasn't quite what I expected, but once I got past the language and the sex, I really enjoyed the story.
The grittiness of the neighborhood that Scott lived in felt, unfortunately, too real in this world. The talking dog and Barry were my favorite characters, although Ginger and Nancy came in a close second.
Michael Bridges did a great job narrating.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
